Bottle from Drankenhandel Leiden. Aroma is strong calvados with oak, caramel, malt, ripe apple, brandy. Flavour is medium sweet, alcohol is fairly well-hidden. Smooth finish, medium body. Very pleasant.

Extremely dark mahogany brown topped with a beige cap that thins to the edge.
Nose is dark malts, raisins, charr, fruit cake, cocoa powder.
Taste comprises mellow roast, charr, fruit cake mix, dates, toffee.
Medium bodied with bite, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a whisper of alcohol.
Not bad.

Bottle tht 13-03-27. Pours a mostly clear copper body and a dense light beige head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma's of caramel, alcohol, fruit candy (peardrops). Retronasal follows this mostly, the fruitiness a bit more pronounced. Above medium bodied. Long finish.

Fles thuis geprobeerd met LiekevdV. Het is een diep donkerbruin tot zwart bier met een bruinig schuim. Het heeft een aroma asbak. De smaak is gebrande mout, asbak met een hint Bourbon en hout.

0.33 l bottle from 'Drankgigant.nl', best before August 2029. Pitch black, barely any head. Intensely sweetish-malty, quite roasty, moderately fruity aroma of praline, mocha, toasted hazelnut and some whisky. Heavily sweet, malty, fairly roasty, gently boozy and a little fruity taste of praline, mocha, roasted hazelnut, whisky, brandy, some licorice and a touch of vanilla, followed by a long, fairly roasty-bitter, gently boozy finish. Full body, smooth and oily mouthfeel, almost flat. Delicious brew, a slow sipper, rich and saturating, but relatively pleasant despite its high abv.

Been sitting in the cellar for nearly 10 years. Black with a thin but frothy, beige head. Aroma promises roasted chocolate, oak, and plum juice. Taste is bittersweet with a mild toasted bitterness over a sweet, malty base. Faint, faint berry-like tartness. Body to the full side of medium, very mild carbonation. Mellow and smooth throughout. Good one.

Aus der Flasche (bbe 17.01.2027) im 2025-01 getrunken. Dieses rotbraun Ale kommt mit eine kurzweiligen beigen Schaumkrone daher. Statt typische Bourbon-Aromen durch die Fassreifung überrascht eine deutliche Säure von einem Sauerteig. Am Gaumen kommen malzige Aromen und Rote Früchte dazu. Spannend, aber irgendwie nicht 100% balanciert!

Aus der Flasche (bottled 29.05.2024/bbe 29.05.2025) im 2025-01 getrunken. Ein sehr unkompliziertes Porter mit klassischen Aromen ohne das irgendwas hervorsticht.
