Description
Four Winds joined the burgeoning BC craft beer scene and opened their doors to a public thirsty for new local offerings on June 1, 2013. Owned, operated and built from the ground up by the Mills family and friends, we are inspired by the Four Winds in gathering flavours from around the world to create our unique West Coast and European styles. We take great pleasure in the application of new world innovations while staying true to old world techniques. Motivated by the limitless potential of beer, as well as the great brewers who came before us, we aim to craft bold beers with character, depth, and balance.

Cask at Caskapalooza, Craft Beer Market, Vancouver
Cloudy golden color. Very fruity, smooth; nice delicate malt flavor, and the jasmine adds a nice touch; strong bitterness. Although it’s a bit dirty/yeasty in the final.

Cask at 12 Kings, Vancouver; 420ml
Murky orange color with frothy head. Nice fruity hop aroma, mainly oranges. The cask format doesn’t help this beer; although it was tapped not long ago, it’s rather warm, undercarbonated and oily; the malts are not very expressive, the adjuncts create a herbal feeling (thyme, maybe heather); correct bitterness, a bit resiny.
Messy, unclean, not very pleasant.

2016-02-10, bottle, corked, 6-3-6-3-11=29
Cloudy golden color with medium sized head. The aroma is a bit too yeasty, and lightly fruity. Smooth mouthfeel, the acidity is very mild, it has some residual sweetness, a lot of yeast, some vegetables too.

2017-05-01, draught at Alibi Room, Vancouver, as Sour Weisse, 3.5% ABV, 6-3-7-3-14=33
Cloudy yellow color, small head. Moderate acidity and lactic/lemon flavor, dry but not weak. An improvement from the initial Berliner Weisse.
2015-08-07, draught at 12 Kings, Vancouver; 420ml, 4% ABV, 6-3-7-3-12=31
Cloudy greenish blond color with almost no head. Nice acidity, it could have more lemon character, less soapiness, less doughy aroma, and a bit more acidity in the final, and a cleaner final.
But it's still a good beer.

Bottle(Merci, Jonas!):Golden, cloudy, mid-sized creamy off-white head; spicy citrussy and orangey nose, covering a honeyish malty base; moderate dryish bitter flavour with a shy, very shy sweetness underneath, light bodied, quite soft; lingering "exotic" hoppy finish. Very pleasant…

Draught at the brewery
Murky yellow color with almost no head. Although the look is not inviting, the acidity and zesty character of this beer is excellent, very refreshing, just one notch below their Passion Fruit version. The body is not too thin.
