Description
Four Winds joined the burgeoning BC craft beer scene and opened their doors to a public thirsty for new local offerings on June 1, 2013. Owned, operated and built from the ground up by the Mills family and friends, we are inspired by the Four Winds in gathering flavours from around the world to create our unique West Coast and European styles. We take great pleasure in the application of new world innovations while staying true to old world techniques. Motivated by the limitless potential of beer, as well as the great brewers who came before us, we aim to craft bold beers with character, depth, and balance.

Draught at the brewery
Cloudy blond color, small compact head. The ginger dominates the aroma, while the spicy beer manages to balance the ginger flavor; powerful and not soapy.
Very nice.

On cask at Craft Beer Market, pours a cloudy dull orange with a large white head. Aroma brings out loads of resinous and citrus hops, some light jasmine and a touch of grass. Flavour packs a punch with loads of citrus hops, orange peel and just enough jasmine. Very "nice" beer - well-balanced and easy to drink. Great one.

On tap at Four Winds, pours a filthy opaque muddy pinkish orange with a small white head. Aroma brings out loads of pithy orange and medium tart wheat. Flavour is just like juice, with shitloads of juicy sweet oranges, a very pithy quality, and light-to-medium tartness. Almost like a radler, but more tart, pithy and complex. Lovely stuff.

Bottle from Firefly. Cloudy, and the big head dies quickly. Pale, maybe a touch darker than the regular Berliner. The aroma is fairly strong barrel, though I wouldn’t necessarily peg it as tequila, and the lactic berliner is fairly prominent as well. It has a full lactic tartness, with a touch of woody barrel notes. I’m not sure the barrel really adds anything here, though.

Flasche( Vielen Dank, Jonas!!!) Cloudy, orangey coloured, big yellowish stable and loose head; moderate to solid grapefruity-hoppy nose with a delicate bready-malty background; solid bitter-sweet flavour, light to medium bodied, harsh; lingering hoppy and grapefruity finish with a phenolic touch. Even though pretty tart, all in all a good one…

750 ml bottle. Pours a hazy gold with a light head that dissipates right away. Aromas of old oak, green grapes, and alcohol. Flavors of slightly sour fruit and oak. Maybe some tequila notes but more barrel. Simple, but a really nice patio beer.
