On tap at the brewery. Pours black, with a small, off-white head and good lacing. The nose is lemon peel, milk chocolate, apple, and a distinct note of root beer. Sweet up front, with a light bitterness and tartness through the finish. Medium body, creamy, acidic, and smooth. An interesting and surprisingly delicious beer.

Sample on tap at the brewery. Clear, light pink color, with some bubbles. The nose is cherries, wheat, and cloves. Sweet and sugary, with a nice, crisp tart bite. Light to medium body, lightly acidic, crisp, and clean. This is a sharp and refreshing cherry sour, but isn’t very complex.

12.7 oz wax-dipped bottle, thanks to StefanSD for his FBW contest. Aroma is lemony, seedy berry jam, dusty, cotton candy, latex. Pours hazy orange with a medium off-white head with great retention. Taste is sour (7/10 on a sour scale) and acidic with all aroma deScriptors (notable the seedy berry jam and lemon), medium bitterness, dry. Somewhat foamy carbonation, thin-bodied. Nice beer.

Bottle. Hazy gold with nice lace. Tart nose of yogurt, white wine, some cocoa, and some phenols. Flavor is medicinal, phenolic band-aid. Pretty gross actually, after a promising start.

Deep dark brown coloured body with a two centimetre tall rich brown head. Aroma of roasted malt, figs, prunes, raisins and a bit of chocolate coupled with some smoke and coffee. Full to Medium-bodied; Strong rich malt flavours with prunes and raisins the strongest, also showing some light vanilla and oak coupled with the chocolate flavours and a touch of smoke. Aftertaste shows some vanilla, dry oak and a bit of grain, but the chocolate and light coffee really shows through along with some slightly smoked flavours. Overall, not a bad beer, but nothing horribly complex or inspiring, which is sad, given it’s price point. I sampled this 37,5 cL split bottle purchased from Belmont Station in Portland, Oregon on 10-March-2015 for US$9,87 sampled just a few hours before leaving for Denver/Wyoming on 14-March-2016.
