Bottle. Orange and peel aroma. Hazy golden yellow with large head. Sweet orange and strong bitter orange peel flavor. Nice body.

I was going to pass on this until I realized it was an alt - clear medium amber- moderate lace - the nose is initially all Munich richness - very pleasant until some light vegetal and metallic (copper) notes show up - slight bummer - flavor is crisp and biscuity up front, but also slightly husky - moderate toasty vienna and sweet munich maltiness through the middle before a medium dry, medium bitter finish - lingering grain husks - much like the kolsch, this has promise, but it is troubled by a handful of minor flaws.

Clear gold pour - just a faint bubbly lace - nose is a bit sweet/sugary, with some light fruitiness and a touch of grass and flowery hops - some creamed corn kind of notes, too, though - flavor is sweet, but much less so than the aroma suggests - fairly clean, moderately crisp - moderate hallertau fruitiness - finish has a bit of alcohol present, a light bit of huskiness - has promise, but could be a hell of a lot better.

22 ounce bottle from the Holiday Wine Cellar. Pours a deep black color, oily, a medium brown head. A sweet fruity and roast nose. The flavor is big dark fruits, dark cherries and plum, a bit of smoke and ash, big deep roast and more dark fruit. Very sweet, not too dry. Quite good.

Tasting at ChrisOs. Opaque dark brown beer, good tan head. Palate is softish and airy. Rich malt. A little unsweet dark chocolate. Spicy licorice. Softish and semi dry finish. Fine.

Bottle at Chriso Easter "Flags of many nations" Tasting, 31/03/13 big thanks to Ken for this one. Pitch black with a thin tan head that clears to a film. Nose is dark roast malt, touch lactose, liqourice, molasses, dark toffee, smidge of chocolate. Taste comprises roast malt, milk chocolate, toffee, brown sugars, touch lactose. Full bodied with fine carbonation. Decent.

Pours clear copper with a short, off-white head. Scent is faint, citrus, pine. Taste is resiny, dark orange-peel, malt. Bittering is mild, a little bready. Nice flavour, very tame.
