Bottle at J’s Bistro. Pours a cloudy golden color with a medium white head. The aroma is citrus and lemon. The taste is very grassy and tart. Not too much going on with this wheat ale from Tommyknocker.

Deep dark shades of brow with a ruby tint and a very thin tan head that tops the beer. Aroma of raisins, caramel malt, nuts and sweet toffee. Medium-bodied; Sweet taste of maple syrup, raisins and some other pit fruits with a very mild maltiness and no hops at all to speak of. Aftertaste shows no nuts, but a fair amount of sweetness. Overall, this one is very sweet and sort of off-balanced throughout. It’s worth trying if you like browns or sweeter beers, but otherwise - you could overlook this one and never question it. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Norm’s in Vienna, Virginia on 18-November-2005 on the Eastern Shore of Virginia.

12 oz bottle just purchased at Lueken’s in Dunedin, FL. Pours kind of dark brown and dirty with thin tan head. The aroma is bits of roasty and burnt malts hidden under a musty blanket of oxidation. The taste is just the same as the aroma with roasty malts, burnt malts, a splash of chocolate milk, malt sweetness and then a big roll of old wet cotton throw rug. Not so good.

Bottle. (courtesy of Papsoe) Orange-golden, hazy beer with a beige head. Quite fruity-sweet nose with some caramel-like notes. The flavor is fruity, with orange and some maltyness. Medium body. A quite refreshing beer. (071006)

Pour is a dark black with a small an head. Aroma is deffinatly dark chocolate with some strong roasted malts. Flavor is a bit weaker but i get more of a coffee aspect than anything. No real cocoa in the flavor as the bitter coffee takes everything over. Still not all that bad just not what i was expecting.

Lightly caramelized aroma, with what I almost think is a phenolic touch, perhaps somewhat soapy. Flavor is equally caramel-soapy with just a hint of bubble gum. Semi-sweet finish. Kinda weird. Copper color, huge almost gushing head formed a thick meringue. This initially gave the impression it might be infected, and some of the unusual phenolic like flavors might just be part of that.

Red-brown, translucent body (albeit slightly hazy), thin buff head. Aroma of cocoa puffs. Thin, watery body with cocoa puffs and...cocoa puffs? Soggy and misshapen ones at that. Where’s the beer?
