Draft at Whole Foods Charlottesville. Pour a hazy orange color with a thin creamy tan head. Decent head retention. Aroma of rye, toasted malts, caramel, mild citrus. The taste is toasted malt, caramel, nougat, mild stone fruits, spicy rye. Medium bodied, good balance, slight lingering bitterness.

Not great for a style I don’t prefer anyway. Pours murky orange without much head or lacing. Kind of acrid, bitter. Some whiskey barrel but not much. Light sweetness. Doesn’t come together super well. Tap at DC Beer festival.

Some light coriander and light aroma of Belgian floral yeast here. Finishes with some sweetness, average carbonation. Bottle at some bar I don’t remember.

Surprisingly good. Very rich and robust roast malt aroma. Pungent and thick. Some light booze and caramel with a bite of bitter dark chocolate. Well balanced. Thick and rich on palate. Medium bitter finish. Bottle at Capital Lounge.

Draft at Sedona Charlottesville. Pours a clear copper color with a thin frothy tan head. Good head retention. Aroma of tropical, resin, citrus hops, mild pale malt. The taste is juicy tropical and citrus hops, mild pale caramel malt. Thin-medium bodied, smooth, slight lingering bitterness.

Draft at Whole Foods Charlottesville. Pours a slightly hazy copper color with a thin frothy tan head. Decent head retention. Aroma of toasted malts, caramel, apple, grassy and floral hops. The taste is apples, toasted malts, caramel, mild spicy hops. Medium bodied.

Draft at Rustico Alexandria poured into a tasting snifter. Pours a dark golden honey yellow with two fingers of off-white head. Aromas of honey, stone fruit, caramel, wheat, and malts. Tastes of stone fruit, pine, caramel, light booze, wheat. Malt forward, medium-light body with a semi-dry finish.

Draft at "Kill the Keg" at Mad Fox Brewing. Aroma is sweet malts. Flavor is sweet, some biscuit, but mostly a sweet malty beer.

Draft at GBBF 2013, Day 3 - London. Pours clear, deep gold with a creamy, off-white head. The nose holds citrus, spicy pine and light bubblegum. Medium sweet flavor with bready malts, moderate herbal hops, pine, orange. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Some grassy bitterness in the finale with bready sweetness, pine and dried orange. OK.
