Cask gravity at the 2014 GBBF. With ginger and orange peel. Nose is big candied ginger preserve, spicy and fresh bit not much else. Opaque dark brown coloured pour wiry a halo of cream head head. Flavour is big ginger, spicy orange tang and dark choc, ginger dominates the flavour. Palate is medium full with highish carbonation. Too much ginger.

Cask - Ginger - Ginger and a bit of spice. Jet black with no head. Ginger and roasted malts, light chocolate with a bit of ginger on the finish. Although I find the ginger harsh on the nose, it works ok in the flavor.

12 oz. bottle from my secret Santa! Hazy yellow pour, with a big, foamy, white head. The aroma is bready, lemons, light coriander, and . Citrusy and bready sweetness, with minimal bitterness. Light body, creamy, with light astringent and acidic finish. This is quite a nice, refreshing witbier.

Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a black color with a small foamy dark tan head that faded quickly and left a bit of lacing. The aroma was dark fruits, toasty malts and hints of wood and marshmallow. The flavor was dryish, roasty and bitter with notes of chocolate, vanilla, marshmallow, fruity hops and a hint of port wine. Medium length finish. Medium body. Solid.

A lot of random elements in this. Pours cloudy orange/yellow with decent head and lacing. Nutmeg, ginger and booze in aroma. Finishes sweet. Kind of reminds me of the kind of bad Christmas candies relatives bring you back from holidays in Germany or Austria. Tap at Black Squirrel.

Refrigerated 12 oz. brown bottle poured into a weizen glass. Pours hazy pale golden with small white head. Orange/Coriander aroma, medium body, medium carbonation, and pretty good small bubble lacing. Taste is coriander, orange, spice (mostly grains of paradise), some floral, some grassy, some bubble gum, with crisp finish. Soft beer with a fair amount of complexity (especially for the style) and flavor, pretty enjoyable really.

Great slightly hazy and honey tinted light amber coloured body with a one centimetre tall tan head. Very mild aroma of grass, honey, malt and a bunch of floral notes! Full-bodied; Very rich flavour of honey, grass, hay, malt, oak, flowers and a lot of spices noticeable on the finish. Aftertaste shows a subdued earthy flavour, but a well refined sweetness from honey and toffee. Overall, a nice and smooth herbal flavour to go with tall the honey! Great to sample here at Whole Foods for only US$3,50! I sampled this full pint on draught at Whole Foods in Falls Church (Tyson’s Corner) on 01-May-2014 for US$3,50.
