12 oz bottle poured into a Spiegelau tulip. Mostly clear straw to golden yellow with super tiny bits of sediment and a finger of off-white head. Aromas of herbs and spices, lemon lime citrus, honey. Almost like an herbal lemon tea. Tastes of big herbs, spices, lemon lime, honey, light floral notes. Medium body with a dry finish.

Keg at Top Hops - NYC. Pours black with a dense, lasting beige cream head. Good, sturdy roasted malt nose with notes of burnt pine and cocoa. Medium sweet flavor with charred cedar, dark chocolate, chicory, slight orange rind, burnt toffee, minerals. Medium bodied with fine carbonation and silky texture. Lightly resinous on the finish with further charred malts, burnt wood, cocoa, dried fruits, oily pine. A very respectable CDA.

Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a hazy yellow-gold color with a small creamy white head that faced and left minimal lacing. The aroma was tangy sugar, a bit of golden fruit and coriander. The flavor was bitter, tangy and musty with notes of table sugar, coriander and cardboard. Medium length finish. Medium boyd. Meh.

Alewife, Queens tap: Pours orange with a white head. Aroma is hoppy aroma, focused on the citrus. Not overly strong aroma though. Taste is slightly bitter. Rye malt backbone is definitely present. Well-balanced and easy to drink. Good show from Port City.
