Description
McMullens was founded in 1827 by Peter McMullen and since then we have continued brewing in Hertford without a break. The heritage of AK, for example, can be traced back to 1833. We have protected the company’s brewing history throughout that time by acquiring and investing in the public houses. Our pubs are run by our managers or business partners and provide an exclusive market for our beers. To this day, the McMullen family remains firmly committed to our beers because they act as the ‘flag’ for our business.

Chris pre Gbbf shindig 2011. Clear amber. Lasting beige head. Tasty enough if a bit bland bit of unbrewed out malt. Not great

Bottle from Asda ’Ginornmo store’ Milton Keynes 15.05.11 Pours dark amber with a white head. This is fruity and malty and with a decent dab of bitterness in the mix as well. Not a great bottled beer but also not too bad. A6 A4 T6 P4 Ov12 3.2

50cl bottle from Tesco in Hemel Hempstead, ABV 5%. Amber with a thin tight white head; stewed malt aroma and flavour with some caramel and rather plain, herbal hops with a metallic edge to them. Not particularly pleasant.
