Review based on the BJCP2021 guidelines (style 5B). Bottle 50 cl - Batch LB014 (BB 05.09.2023). AROMA: medium-low griny-sweet malt aroma with low herbal hop notes. initial medium-low metallic note that vanishes. APPEARANCE: light gold color and cristal clear. medium-low white head with average retention. TASTE: medium soft malt with a neutral sweetness. faint herbal hop note. medium bitterness with a dry and crisp finish. well attenuated. MOUTHFEEL: medium-light body with medium carbonation. smooth. OVERALL: a really nice Kolsch, not that much complex but the expected from a bottled example.

Draught sample at MBCC 2023, blue session. Clear golden colour with a thin, white head. Fresh, hoppy, grasses and fruits. High drinkability.

On tap at MBCC 2023, pours a hazy blonde with a small white head. Aroma brings out straw and a touch of crackery malt. Flavour is full of straw and a touch of crackery malt. Dry and straw-like finish. It's fine.

During MBCC 2023 Saturday morning session with Matt, Brian, Ryan, Phill, Erik, and superhelpful and funny Rachel, hehe. Appearance: hazy blonde. Aroma: raw water, wheat. Taste: same. Overall: meh.

Optisch hellgelb mit leichter Trübung und gut sichtbaren Trübstoffen bzw. Hefeflocken. Feine Perlage steigt hoch. Die weiße, feinporige Schaumkrone wirkt dabei flaumig, sehr stabil und gut haltbar. In der Nase vernimmt man bereits ganz deutlich den Citra-Charakter mit Noten von Zitrone, Orange, aber auch weißer Traube. Der Antrunk kommt angenehm spritzig, frisch und leicht süßlich-fruchtig, fruchtig-muskatig und muskatig herb. Ein durchaus schöner Bogen an Aromen. Am Gaumen setzt sich dieses Spiel genau so fort. Ein für 4,7% Alkohol durchaus schöner Körper, der mit einer zarten Malznote, aber hauptsächlich mit leicht süßlich-fruchtig-herben Noten von Zitrone, Orange, aber eben auch mit besagtem Muskat-Touch von weißer Traube. Mich persönlich erinnert es mit seiner zarten Säure auch an Wasserkefir, der mit Zitronen, Orangen und Rosinen angesetzt ist. Absolut erfrischend und harmonisch, wenn auch nicht übermäßig anspruchsvoll. Dass Gaffel obergärig kann, ist ohnedies kein Geheimnis. Mundgefühl und Süffigkeit darf man dabei als durchaus gut bezeichnen und es dieses Bier macht echt Freude. Im Nachtrunk klingt die Aromatik vielleicht etwas zu rasch aus. Mein Fazit: Wenn auch nicht weltklasse, aber dieses Bier zeigt eine klare Linie im gesamten Trinkverlauf, ist dabei absolut makellos und daher auch echt gut!

Bottle. Cloudy yellow/gold with an ok white head. Aroma and taste of citrus fruits, yeast, grains, protein and malts. Fruity and yeasty. Low bitterness. Strong carbonation. Very refreshing and süffig. Surprisingly enjoyable!
