Gushing to huge, pinkish tinted cream head; hazy, lively carbonated dark brown beer. Wood, plywood, moss, wet cardboard, chocolate. Dry, woody, plywood, dry chocolate. Rather well-bodied, good carbonation, very slick, creamy feel. Dry, woody... Simple and pleasing. But gushing.

23 December 2025. At Tush, Ghent. Cheers to the Teamleader crew!
A: hazy black, big, stable, foamy, beige head.
A: star aniseed, clove, coffee pad, grapefruit peel.
T: sweetish brambleberry, sourish citrus zest, aniseed, some toast.
F: earthy hops, some soapy spiciness, coffee residue.
P: medium body, slick texture, average carbonation.
Not bad, but not excelling anywhere.

Highly drinkable. Soft roast. Light yeast, burnt wheat, cocoa, torched toffee. Really nice.

Nice classically styled saison. Fresh biscuits, a little candi sugar, bread crust, lemon peel, nips of bitter straw. Mellow yeast expression. Clean, dry finish.

Bottle from Dranken Vandewoude and drunk with Nelson. Its a little earthy. Some syrupy alcohol. Some citrus flavour. Mostly it's boozy I'm not saying it's off but it's slightly woody and not pleasant. Threw half a glass away. .

Not a saison, of course, with all the roasted malts and coffee toffee. A mix between a Brown ale and a Dunkel, with extra hops and a vaguely earthy yeastiness.

Another good Brussels brewery I had never heard of. From a really nice Brussels-only shop just down from Malt Attacks. Finally caught up with all the beers from last week 😅

10/VIII/24 - 33cl bottle from Geers (Oostakker), shared @ Mattie’s place, midsummer mussels dinner with the inlaws, BB: 7/XI/24, 2210/P1285 (2024-726)
Clear deep orange to amber beer, big creamy off-white head, falls down quickly, adhesive, leaving a nice lacing in the glass. Aroma: pretty fruity start, apples and pears, a bit yeasty, floral, sweet impression. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: a little sweet up front, herbal, pretty bitter, some alcohol, ripe banana, a bit grassy. Aftertaste: pretty dry, grassy, a bit floral, more yeast, soapy bitterness, esters, some chemical solvents, meh, not very good.

Bouteille 33cl à friture Steve, métro Pannenhuis. BB 07/11/2024.

No head, clear light red to cola-coloured beer. Typical nose of soured, barreled beer. There's quite some oxydation as well. Old wine. Sweet-sour, and again full oxydation. Strawberry sweets for children. Feels abnormally light - this is supposed to be barley wine, no? No carbonation, dead. This is not barley wine. This is something forgotten in a barrel, that previously harboured strawberry syrup.
