Tap at the Alehouse Project, Melbourne. Poured a crystal clear light amber with a frothy white head and lots of bubbles. The aroma is yeast, orange citrus. The flavour is light sour, light bitter with a crisp, fresh, yeasty, light tart zesty citrus, light hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with lively carbonation. Light, refreshing and very drinkable. Fine for a session too with the low ABV.

From a 330ml bottle on 13/8/2017. Pours a pale golden with a small head. Has a mild zesty, tart citrus nose. Taste wise, it’s got some dough and bread, citrus fruit (particularly lemon), with a mild sour bitterness. Light bodied with lively carbonation. Decent enough and quite refreshing.

330ml bottle into glass. Cloudy yellow beer with solid white head. Nose has stonefruit and earthy funkiness. Full-bodied and slick. Taste and finish is bitter fruitiness with notes of rockmelon, guava, and durian. Quality beer, really good.

[8/17] Bottle. Clear gold with a white head that fizzes away in a few seconds. Aroma is indeed bretty with apricots, damp hay, some bracken. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation. Quite sweet. gently sour, very modestly funky. Hay and apricots, a little old lemon, pineapple. Some aged white wine fruity notes. Dries out a bit at the barely bitter end. Seemed a bit simple (if nicely balanced) at first but gradually revealed more. [3.5] A small taster each of the 2017 and 2018 versions. The 2018 is darker and a little sourer than the note above with a balsamic vinegar note as well as the considerable sweetness. But boy is the 2017 version transformed. The sweetness is almost gone and the sourness and funk are tightly integrated into drying beer that has both depth and elegance. Kind of averaging the score, but this was a 4.

On tap at Hair of the Dog Phrom Phung, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma brings out dry cocoa powder and toasted malt. Flavour is aggressive on the palate, with dry cocoa powder and dry toasted malt. Aggressive carbonation, almost like a champagne. Strange but it works.
