Draught at the Lambert St. Louis airport location. Pours a lightly hazed golden-orange color with a thin and dense ivory colored head that stays for a bit. Stringy lacing. The aroma has hints of sweet malt and hops. Medium, smooth body with a straightforward combination of nutty malt, hops and citrus flavors. The finish is on the sweet malty side with a slightly bitter hops aftertaste. Fairly non-descript EPA all around, but very welcome in an airport.

Sample at the Lambert St. Louis airport location. Lightly hazed yellow-gold color with a thin white head that disappears rather fast. Top ring of lace with spots underneath. Wheat and mild hops in the nose. Light body with a bland wheat and malt flavor with a hint of banana. The finish is wheaty with a slight yeast aftertaste. Unmemorable for the most part.

(Bottle 35,5 cl) Courtesy of jsquire. Pours a deep, dark, reddish brown with a beige head. Lightly sweet, burned malt aroma. Quite light in body with dry, hard roasted malt accents and touches of vanilla and burned caramel. The finish is only lightly bitter. 180907

Dark brown color. Light wet cardboard aroma, light roated malt. Ordinary mouthfeel, with some dry caramel flavor, some chocolate malt and very light phenol. The final is also a bit warming. Not bad, but not my kind.

2006 bottle shared by beastiefan2k (thanks, eugene!) - dark brown with a red hue and a thin ring of lace - caramel, vanilla and bourbon aroma - slick mouthfeel, low carbonation - medium-sweet, with heavy caramel flavors, strong vanilla, some cocoa bean, and hints of doughiness - medium bourbon booziness that seem slightly overdone (but what bourbon stout isnβt?) - a little too much bourbon, but otherwise okay.

2006 Bottle from Beerdrenched; been in the cellar for about a year! Aging well! Nose of caramel and plums (not very strong); Rusty colored with a big glass-lacing beige head; Flavor of oak, bourbony alcohol, and dark fruit; finish shows off the oak and some alcohol.

On tap at Rich Oβs Publick House when I stopped on the way to Dark Lord Day. I assume this was left over from Gravity Head. Very clear dark amber body with a fleeting off-white head. The aroma is lightly sweet and begs for more complexity. The flavor follows the aroma and adds some oak.

12 oz. bottle, bottled 5/30/07. My shaker glass probably isnβt getting cleaned in the dishwasher; this, like every beer, kicks up a big head when poured. But a nice amber/copper color, thick head with some cling, and a flow of tiny bubbles from the bottom. Nice smell of ale hops. Taste is of a smooth, gentle base pale ale. Light crystal malts, and English hops that settle down right under the back roof of my mouth. Goes well with its low alcohol content to make a nice session beer.

Bottle. Yarr! Schlafly delivers nicely. Pour is an orange color, while head ranges over two fingers high, dies down a bit but laces nicely. Aromas are of grapefruit and pine with some creamy caramel malt in the background. Flavor is magnificent and picks up all the elements that are present in the aroma... balancing them together. Darn good.

2006 Bottle from Beerdrenched; Thanks Eric! Waited a long time to drink this one! Odeed made me do it! Rating #1200 Nose was woody, with coffee, chocolate, and light bourbon and molasses notes; clear dark brown (lighter than expected) with a small, but lightly glass-lacing, tan head; Flavor of chocolate, bourbon (but not too much), dates, oak, and some light vanilla from the medium body and a light bourbon finish!
