12 oz. bottle from Lukas in KCMO. Pour is slightly cloudy orange with a nice, fluffy, white head. Aroma is grapefruit hop and sweetness. The taste is more malt than hop at first with a very dry sweetness. Hop takes over nicely in the middle with grapefruit citrus and a bit more tangy sweetness. Very nice finish. A great beer from Schlafly.

Bottle from sliffy. Deep red-brown body, medium cream head. Translucent. Roasted malt aroma with hints of licorice. Chocolately roast body, balanced by bitter, earthy hops. Somewhat woody finish. Oily palate, medium-bodied, with a fairly strong bitter, hoppy finish.

Bottle. Wheat malt aroma with hints of lemon, apple, banana. Cloudy orange-yellow color with moderate head. Slightly tart lemon and wheat malt flavor. Very nice Am Wheat.

Good coffee beer. Aroma is nothing but coffee. Flavor is coffee as well, just a little bitter, full flavored but one dimensional. Brown color and average palate.

Pour is a orange with a creamy white head. Aroma is a very creamy malt with lots of citrus hops and some mustyness. Flavor is citrus hops with some smokyness and oak. Probalby one of the most malty and earthy IIPA’s out there. Amp up the hoppyness a touch and you got yourself a winner.

12 oz Bottle. This was a gift to my Mother in Law on Mother’s Day. Tried a bit of it, and was pleasantly surprised. Usually I do not like fruit wheat beers, and this one wasn’t horrible. The Raspberry had a nice complementary role in the beer. I am not a huge fan of the reg Schlafly hefe, though, but I actually rated this a bit higher.

12 oz. Bottle. Pour is golden, though a pretty dark gold. Aroma is wet grass and a touch of sweetness. The taste is clean and bright, with the hay and grass notes expected. The sweetness was in the taste as well, though I expected a bit more from the aroma. Overall, a nice drinkable summer beer, though I have had better Kölschs.

sample from bottle at DLD - Pours dark brown with a fluffy enduring head. It has a good roast malt aroma and flavor, a medium to full body, light carbonation, and a mildly bitter finish. Pretty good stout. rerate - bottle - Very dark brown, small tan head. Roast malt and coffee aroma. Flavor has dark roast malt, coffee, and some licorice notes. Well balanced and tasty.

Mmm, pours with a really pleasing bourbon and oak aroma, with a touch of vanilla and butter, like cake frosting - then further into a rummy note. Quite dark with a thin tight khaki layer of foam. This beer doesn’t waste any time! Not alot of sweetness up front, this beer aggressively hits the sides of the tongue with a powerful oaky astringency and tartness, leading into a dry yet full bodied, extremely bitter finish. Tongue coating oakiness and heavy body. Lingering bourbon/oak/vanilla steamroller. Maybe there’s an espresso note. Take in small doses, and not on an empty stomach!
