Dunkler Bock mit 7,3 % Alk und 17,8 % Stammwürze. Nicht direkt ein Weizenbock, da mehr Gersten- als Weizenmalz enthalten ist. Auch die geringe Schaumentwicklung spricht nicht für ein Weißbier. Ganz besonders macht das Bier, dass der Sud in alten Steintrögen mit heißen Steinen karamelisiert wird und die Kühlung nur durch die Kälte des Winters erfolgt. Die Brauerei Hofstetten stellt viele, sogar noch exotischere Biere her und ist in Österreich auch nicht an das bayerische Reinheitsgebot gebunden. Schöne dunkle Farbe. Geruch: Etwas Traube und pures Karamalz. Auch geschmacklich herrscht Karamalz vor. Eher süß, nur leicht herb. Spuren von Kaffee, dunkler Schokolade und schwerem Rotwein. Zusätzlich spielen deutliche röstige und rauchige Noten mit rein (wir erinnern uns: Die heißen Steine). Sehr schön weich. Gute Substanz und trotzdem süffig. Den hohen Alkoholgehalt merkt man nicht. Gut.

Bottle. Blonde, hazy. Floral citrusaroma. Medium bodied. Citric hopbitter flavor with floral notes and tropical fruit. Slightly alcoholic. Malty sweet floral hopbitter finish with tropical fruit.

Bottle from Sebilinz, thanks! Golden color. Tropical fruit and some herbal notes in the aroma. Malty sweet, slightly herbal and floral flavor with dried tropical and citrusfruit. Alcohol partly hidden. Low on carbon. Great beer.

Bottle 330ml. @ home.[ As Hofstettner 1. Sud G'froren's ].Clear medium orange yellow colour with a large, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, white to off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, bread, oxidide, caramel, - sweet malt, rich malt, fruity malt - fried fruit. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a long duration, sweet malt, bread, sweet malt - caramel, dried fruit - fruity malt, rich malt. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet with a average duration, sweet malt, caramel, barrel - oak, peat - smoked, wood, port finish, malty. Body is medium, texture is watery, carbonation is soft.
