Draft at Churchkey. Clody golden amber color, large bubble edge head. Very fruity aroma. Taste is fruity bitter grapefruit, not as bitter as the Saphir, in fact almost sweet. Not bad.

11.2 fl oz bottle: shared between five at the Shrewsbury Bottle Exchange Group meeting on 12th Jan 2015. Cheers Mat for this offering. Deep ruby pour with a beige head. The nose and taste were of rich fruit cake, treacle and maltiness. Reminded me of a Barley Wine, I have had very few ’Eisbock’ style beers, but I might try and find some more now! Sweet yet well balanced and a joy to drink.

Rating from 3-22-2010...it exploded all over the floor and sink "how do you describe that smell??"....cloudy light copper ..no head...think it landed all on the floor....tastes like bitter dirty pennies (or at least how they smell)....the palate...who cares...well at least I have an Austrian beer for the book!

Bottled, thanks Sebilinz! Hazy dark brown, minimal head. Concentrated bready malt aroma with some raisin. Sweet with full body and rounded mouthfeel, low carbonation. Rich on malt, raisins and madeira. Caramelly warming finish. Nice!

Bottle pour split. This beer is being used as an introduction to this style. Interesting stuff. Pours super dark and cloudy. Heavy body with no head. Pretty boozy with a ton of dark fruit and spice. I’m new to this style and feel like I might need to warm up to it. This was not bad at all, and look forward to trying it again later down the road.

Bottled, thanks Sebilinz! Cloudy golden, firm mid sized head. Floral nose with some tropical fruits. Mid sweet with medium body and well rounded mouthfeel. Lightly doughy malt, floral tropical fruit hops. Mid bitter finish. Nice!

Tap at Gingerman hoping this isn’t my last style rate of the week. Pours hazy amber with nose of earth and malt. Tastes of malt, dough, rye, some apple, and unfortunately odd plastic. Other than that one weird note pretty good.

Lightly sugary with something of a morning cereal taste. Pours orange with good head and lacing. Light booze. Curious texture, and moving palate that gives peppery sensation at the end. Tap at Pizzeria Paradiso.

330ml bottle, thanks to Geiserich! Pours very dark brown with tan head. Has quite a strong plummy aroma. Taste is rich malts with chewy dark fruits and a warming alcohol character. Some faint marzipan and honey coming through. Not generally my cup of tea, but it’s alright.
