Can. Murky brown color, large tan head. Aroma of lightly spiced caramel and chocolate. Taste is rich roasted and toasted malt, subtle edge of lime and spice. Good balance. Becomes more complex as it warms.

From tap at Ølbaren. Pours clear and golden orange with a small white head. Herbal, dry grassy and light pine hoppy. Mellow malty, fruity and light herbal. Phenolic yeasty too it seems. Cooked vegetable touch.

Cloudy, amber with a thin head. The aroma is lightly spicy. The taste is spicy - cinnamon, maybe white pepper. Finishes sweet and spicy with light acidity.

Draft. A nut-briwn beer with a huge whipped cream head. The aroma has notes of nuts, malt, and caramel. The flavor is sweet with notes of hops, straw, malt, nuts, and a bit of caramel, leading to a bitter finish.

500mL can, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma of roasted malt, chocolate, licorice and a touch of espresso. Flavour begins with espresso, licorice / anise and molasses, with the licorice becoming more pronounced midway through, while most of the flavours die on the finish, leaving a licorice-y trace. Medium complexity with a bit too much licorice for my liking. Enjoyable nevertheless.

500mL bottle, pours a clear golden yellow with a small white head. Aroma of poppy seeds, sort of a coconut-y note, bready malts and floral hops. Flavour of poppy seeds upfront, that same coconut-like note, sweet bready malts and faint hops. Nice touch with the poppy seeds, but nothing remarkable here.

500mL bottle, pours a dark amber brown with a small beige head. Aroma of lemongrass, coriander, dark fruits, Belgian yeast and brown sugar. Flavour has an odd array of spices, with lemongrass and coriander, on top of brown sugar, caramel malt and Belgian yeast. Medium complexity with low carbonation for the style. Very odd indeed, but quite enjoyable.

On tap. Pours a clear orangey brown with a dense and creamy beige head with an excellent retention leaving a neat lacework. Sweet caramel and subdued roast in the nose. Medium body, again lots of sweet caramel and a little nutty. The finish is dry with subtle hops. Nice but absolutely nothing baconish here. 121211
