Cask at PoW, Farnborough. Vague caramel aroma. In a dark but it didn’t appear to be particularly amber, more a light brown. Sparse froth of a head. Light bitter. This grows in strength but not to more than less light. Light bodied. Thin. Flat. Long finish. Drinkable but a bore draw. Had been on for a few days I think and may have suffered for that.

Keg tap at the Kingston Arms, Cambridge. Reddish brown, barely translucent, minimal head. Slightly burnt malt aroma, salted plum, red grape juice. Vert sweet taste with coffee and balsamic vinegar tones lying over the malt. Medium to long finish with bramble in the aftertaste. Full carbonation.

Bought at Surrey Wine Cellar, Chobham. New label design, bottle style and ABV at 5.9%. Underpowered aroma - a touch of grass and spruce. Bright amber, a tad opaque. Extremely lively carbonation, resulting in a massive off-white head. Bitter - with a harsh edge to it. Underlying juiciness. Grapefruit, quinine, tangerine, herbs. Medium bodied and slick. Somewhat astringent finish. Unbalanced - the harsh bitterness overpowers everything else and leaves a bad taste in the mouth.

Bottle from Secrett’ s Farm Shop. Currently retired. Back at 5.5%, from previous 5.0%.Strong raspberry aroma, with an almost boozy edge. An opaque orange-amber. Thick bubbly white head. Short-last lived sweetness. Then a sour tinged bitterness kicks in. The raspberry’ s there alongside citrus and a saltiness. However it’s never more than medium and somewhat one note. Relatively light bodied. An oilyness to it. Most impact comes from the carbonation. Dry astringent finish. Was hoping for a summer refresher but a bit boring and too dry.

33cl bottle. Poured a crystal clear medium amber with a frothy white head. The aroma is grainy malt, yeast, light creamy caramel toffee, biscuit dough. The flavour is moderate bitter with a light frothy watery fruity metallic hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with average carbonation.
