Description
Brewing in freedom. Young and locally oriented nano brewery. Brewing small batches we developed 20+ delicious beers over the last 4 years. At the end of 2015 we opened up our brewpub 'Café Rad van Wageningen' where we serve our locally produced beers plus some samples of other beers. For non beer drinkers we have a modest list of (good dutch) wines, stronger liquors and many other beverages. Don't forget the crafty pubmeals on friday or saturday. (Local Dutch brewer with description in English; because in the city of Wageningen we have lot's of foreign customers)

Tap @ Cafe Derat. Slightly hazy orange colour with an off-white head. Nose is massive butter from diacetyl and a hint of banana. Flavour is massive butter again, very cloying and basically overpowering everything else. This didn’t go well, I assume this needed to ferment a little longer.

Tap @ cafe derat, large sample. Almost clear amber color, medium off-white head. Aroma of lots of banana, some hint of clove, slight grassy hop. After Bullit mentioned it, it has quite some butter in it as well. I’m glad I was focused more on enjoying the banana, otherwise I would have been overwhelmed by the butter. Soft bitterness and soft sweetness, mostly towards banana again. Hmm, I dont know what to think of it. Great thirst quencher if you dont think of the butter.

75cl Bottle at RBESG ’13 Grand Tasting. Clear deep golden colour, white head. Aroma is indeed of a strong lager, sweet, quite fruity, honey, pineapple. Flavour is likewise, with some earthy notes, light hoppy bitter finish. Light to medium-bodied. Didn’t really like this.

Bottle at the RBESG 2013 Grand Tasting. Poured a clear copper colour with a thin broken white head and no lace. The aroma is malt and fruit. The flavour is medium to weak bitter with malt and some red berry fruit on the smooth palate. A decent beer actually and one I will track down again.
