Small yellowish head over hazy amber beer. Buttermilk, spoiled milk, spicy blossoms. Spoiled milk, milkchocolate, coffee with milkchocolate mixed. Well bodied and well-carbonated. Ugh... the nose was still allright, but once tasted...

Poured from 340mL bottle. Cloudy brownish yellow with off-white head. Aroma of bubblegum and vegetable with mild malt. Same taste, medium body.

Poured from 340mL bottle. Mostly clear, orangey brown with off-white head. Aroma is quite dank like a wet rug, a mix of bready caramel malt and mild grassy and tropical hops. Taste is quite subdued, finish is quick, bitterness lingers a short time, but really doesn’t give a full mouthfeel and is a bit too watery.

May 23, 2025 (7/3/7/3/14=3.4): Poured from 660mL bottle (#132/250 2013 edition) from my South Africa trip in the Pictonator cellar. Black with small tan head, very small gush on opening (no overflow). Some dark fruits and gentle roast malt, mild dry acetic brett-like note. Not great, but actually not a drain pour, more of a brett imperial stout. I don't hate it.
Aug 25, 2014 (7/3/7/3/15=3.5): Poured from 660mL bottle (#150/250 2013 edition). Black with minimal tan head. Aroma is fairly sweet with some licorice and light chocolate. Flavour brings out more coffee with chocolate, licorice and a little leather. Medium light body. Alcohol hidden. Starts sweet, roast comes in the middle, finish a bit weak. A bit light for a Russian imperial style.

33cl bottle. Pours cloudy and golden with a decent head and some suspended yeast. The nose is really tart with a creamy background. The taste is more yoghurty sourness. I suspect this beer is off, so a proper rating is hard to give, therefore I’m giving something around the mean.

Bottle at Deanso’s crappy music tasting. The aroma is sour but weak, The flavour is rich, zesty and alcoholic with bags of alcohol on the palate. A very drinkable beer in smaller quantities.

Sampled from bottle @ Dean plays crappy music tasting. Opaque pitch black color, small light brown head. Don’t get a lot of aroma. Taste malts, roastyness and some sourness.

Bottle shared at Deanso’s crappy music tasting. Pours black with a small beige head. Aroma of roasted malts, light coffee, light chocolate, some Elastoplast. Flavour is lightest rate sweet and bitter. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.

Bottle at Deanso’s crappy music tasting. Poured a clear dark amber with a broken white head. The aroma is malty and zesty. The flavour is hugely malty with lots of alcoholic bitterness. A super beer.
