Maltese microbrew. Others beers like 0.80€ at the supermarket, this was 3.30. Not the best price-performance but an entirely respectable ale

Pours dark reddish brown with a beige head. Aroma has notes of roasted malt, chocolate, coffee, yeast, ash and hint of plastic. Taste is medium sweet and medium bitter with a long roasted, chocolate, yeasty, ash and coffee finish. Body is medium, texture is thin to oily, carbonation is soft.

Bottle. A dark brown beer with a dense, two-finger light tan colored head. The aroma has a very pleasant roasted maltyness, licorice, burnt notes and some dried fruits. Coffee and a pleasant citrusy hoppy touch too. It’s quite effervescent in the mouth, full-bodied and semi-dry. Roasted malts, coffee, grassy, piney hops and some licorice. Lasting roasted and hoppy finish. A bit yeasty this one, but I really like it anyway. 150522

Bottle. A lightly hazy one, golden in color and with a dense, finger-thick light beige head. Weak aroma with a fruit-caramel touch. Some grass, yeast and a touch of chalk. It’s quite effervescent, medium bodied and dry, with a nice bitterness. The flavor has some of the same yeasty notes, as well as fruityness and some caramel maltyness. Long finish. Seems to have been bottled before the fermentation was done, but it’s far from horrific. 150522

Bottle. A hazy, pale golden beer with a small, dense, white head. The aroma is very fruity and flowery, with a nice yeasty touch. Orange peel and a fruity touch. A bit effervescent and thin on the palate, quite dry. The flavor is orangey and lightly fruity, with a flowery touch, some coriander seed and a decent bitterness. Lasting finish with a bit too much sweetishness. Quite decent and quenching this one. 150522
