Sweet, bready aroma. Malts control the taste though there are hints of hops in a slightly bitter underflavor. But most of the flavor is sweet with hints of brown sugar and toffee. Light to medium body. Clean and crisp going down, with a sticky finish.

Herrlich. Well I sure was surprised to see this is also the dunkel. I’d sure peg it as a schwarz. Pours a very dark purplish red, small head, very bubbly in the glass. Aroma of sweet chocolate, hints of cinnamon and pecan pie. Flavor more caramelized, with some bittersweet chocolate. A bit over-carbonated, with a carbonic bite/twang. Could be smoother.

A pretty nice pils, I was grateful it wasn’t skunked. Nice hop aroma, grassy, slightly citric, cobwebs, plus a touch of malt like dry toast. Flavor is clean and well balanced with a medium, crisp bitter finish. Pale gold, almost straw, with a nice fluffy head. A very easy drinking pilsner with character, and a very good match with a variety of foods. Possibly also a good beer to share with your friends who aren’t yet into the more robust styles.
