Description
Pretty Things Beer & Ale Project began on a shoestring budget in 2008. We exist to allow 20 year professional brewer Dann Paquette to make an honest living while giving his imagination free reign. We brew our beers in other people's breweries because we can't afford our own. We enjoy the up-at-dawn lifestyle and the freedom to brew beers of our own imagining. We brew all our beers ourselves: Dann brews and formulates, Martha mills in. We dream up our beers together, inspired by Europe, by history, and by BEER and all it can be. We are based in Somerville, but brew mostly in Westport, MA, hence the early mornings. Cheers!

Bottle shared during the Cad’s 10th anniversary bash - Clerkenwell, London. Brought over from the US. Pours unclear gold with a creamy white cap. The nose holds sugary pale bread and ripening citrus fruits. Medium sweet flavor with juicy citrus, mango, papaya, melon. Medium to full bodied with average carbonation. Sugary finish, sticky, with some tropical fruits, more pale bread. Quite sugary but the dense fruit character has its charms.

Pour is a murky brown with a small tan head. Aroma is full of candi sugar and dark fruit. Maybe even some woody notes as well. Flavor is a bit sweet with some raisons and sweet plum. Finish is a bit more sugar and then after the swallow a bit of black bread appears. This was a pretty decent quad. This was bottled in May of 2014 and its still a bit to sweet, that’s really my only knock against this.

Pour is a clear golden with a large white head. Aroma is yeasty banana esters with some pale malt and sugar. Flavor is some grass, dry bready malt with some yeasty spice. Finish is some pepper and but also a bit sweet and acidic. Not any more hoppy then a normal triple but it’s a well made beer and the alcohol is hidden well.
