Bottle. Chocolate barley malt and grass/hay aroma. Dark brown with small head. Sweet cherry chocolate, barley malt and moderately bitter herbal hay flavor. Nice body. Very good.

Bottle shared in NYC - picked up at De Cicco’s. Pours mostly clear gold with a frothy white head. Nice aroma, some piney hops, marmalade, tangerine. Medium sweet flavor, light alcohol notes, some rindy citrus, ole bread, crackers. Full bodied with fine to average carbonation. Warming finish with some resinous hops, further crackers pale malts, ripe citrus. Tasty beer.

Bottle. Brown body with a short, fizzy, tan head. Aroma of pencil lead, candy, sugar, toasted grain, caramel. The flavor is moderately to heavily sweet and lightly bitter. It finishes moderately sweet and lightly bitter. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. The pencil lead aroma shows up in the taste along with some vinegar. Overly sweet with very few nuances. There is some overripe fruit but it comes off as prune juice.

Bottled. Hazy golden colour, quite lively when opening it, so be quick. Big fluffy head. Aroma is fruity, mild farmyardy notes, some citrus and spices. Flavour is citrus, bread, mild herbs, some yeast and mild tart wooden notes.

Bottle provided by Willrunforbeer, much thanks Brian on this nice stout. Pitch black in color mld head and lace. Aroma has a deep roast, earthy malt and charred ash.
The flavor is much the same as what the aroma delivers. What is a surprise is the bitterness in the finish. The bottle is ticked on the label Dec, 2014 so it is a fresher example. The bitterness does do a nice job at the balance of the sweet chocolate and earthy malt boldness. Mouthfeel does have a thick texture with a charred ashy finish. The ABV is really nicely integrated and not noticeable. Finely crafted.

This brew is a cloudy yellow color with a medium fluffy white head that recedes gradually. Partial rings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of citrus, malt and yeast. Medium body with flavors of herbal yeast, citrus and mild hops. The finish is fruity up front with a floral yeast aftertaste. Above average overall.

Bottle share warm up at Craft Clerkenwell. Thanks to Leighton. Very hazy orange - amber beer, small pale cream colour head. Smooth airy palate, semi dry. Mild fine carbonation. Dry creamy malts. Good hop spice and mild hop skunk. Spicy pine. Mild tropical fruits turning nicely bitter. Very good. Napabier and DIPAs - who knew?
