Description
Pretty Things Beer & Ale Project began on a shoestring budget in 2008. We exist to allow 20 year professional brewer Dann Paquette to make an honest living while giving his imagination free reign. We brew our beers in other people's breweries because we can't afford our own. We enjoy the up-at-dawn lifestyle and the freedom to brew beers of our own imagining. We brew all our beers ourselves: Dann brews and formulates, Martha mills in. We dream up our beers together, inspired by Europe, by history, and by BEER and all it can be. We are based in Somerville, but brew mostly in Westport, MA, hence the early mornings. Cheers!

Pour is a hazy yellow with a average white head. Aroma is great! Lots of fruitiness with a big yeast ester. Flavor is lemon juice to start then comes a dull wheaty malt followed by some bitterness and spice. The bottle says this was bottled in Oct 14 so it may be a bit old, maybe I would get more hop is fresher. Still the aroma is great and the flavor is also not bad at all. Nice almost lighter that usual saison.

Bottle at the Cads 10th Anniversary bash, thanks to Leighton, 29/03/15. Hazed orange amber with a decent beige covering. Nose is big on orange, tangerine, straw, citric peel, candied fruit, sweet tunes. Taste comprises bitter orange, grand marnier notes, caramel, candied fruit, sweet licks. Medium + body, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Ok strong, a touch sweet at times, one to share - alcohol well integrated.

Bottle at Au Trappiste, Bern
Hazy golden color, small head. Sweet aroma, some vegetable soup too in it, celery. Good body strength, dry mouthfeel, the malt is not expressive, but it has enough spice character; strong bitterness; it still has traces of vegetables in the final.
Not fully convincing.

Bottle at the Cad’s 10 yr Shindig. Thanks Leighton! It pours deep orange-amber with a small beige head. The nose is soft, doughy, orange sponge cake, caramel, stewed orange and candy. The taste is bitter-sweet, juicy, caramel, stewed orange, muffin, tangerine, candied fruits, booze and brioche with a sweet finish. Full body and fine carbonation. A bit too sweet, but overall not bad.
