Description
Pretty Things Beer & Ale Project began on a shoestring budget in 2008. We exist to allow 20 year professional brewer Dann Paquette to make an honest living while giving his imagination free reign. We brew our beers in other people's breweries because we can't afford our own. We enjoy the up-at-dawn lifestyle and the freedom to brew beers of our own imagining. We brew all our beers ourselves: Dann brews and formulates, Martha mills in. We dream up our beers together, inspired by Europe, by history, and by BEER and all it can be. We are based in Somerville, but brew mostly in Westport, MA, hence the early mornings. Cheers!

Bottle shared at a tasting at Alexey and Refaela’s place. Brown color with reddish hues and a beige head. Aroma of malt, a bit of caramel, nuts and some fruitiness. Dry-ish flavor with light sweetness, malt, a bit of nuts, light fruitiness and a pretty strong earthy and herbal hops bitterness. Medium-bodied. Good.

Pours gold into a snifter. Bright white head with good retention recedes to skim surface. Sourdough and grapefruit aromas. Medium bodied with caramel and bread upfront turning to marshmallow before the lasting earth and grapefruit finish.

Bottle from Beergium.com. Amber, hazy body, with a medium, creamy, sticky, white head. Aroma of grapefruit, flowers, pineapple, berries, grass, pine, biscuit. Taste with the same aromas, with a nice, smooth malt backbone. Mouthfeel is medium, slick, with a lively carbonation and it finishes bitter, dry, with grapefruit, pine and some berries. Tasty! Pretty bitter, but still very well balanced with both, lots of fruits and smooth malt notes, crisp and easy to drink. Great IPA!

650ml bottle. Slightly cloudy, red glowing, brown colour with small, creamy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, off-white head. Slightly vinous, fruity aroma, hints of dried fruit, plum, raisin, red berries, some yeast-spiciness. Taste is dry, fruity, notes of dried fruit, plum, raisin, spicy bitter hoppy overtones, some malt-spiciness, basic malt-sweetness; slightly sticky palate. Controlled, flattering, easy going, too sweet.
