Bottled on board of "Jacobite Queen" @Loch Ness. Dark brown, decent creamy tan head. Woody, salty-hoppy nose. Malty toffeish with hints of licorice and oak. Mildly hoppy in the aftertaste - nice malty background.

Cask@Northern Bar, Edinburgh. Pale yellow, creamy off-white head. Sweetish and honeyish hoppy nose. Starts watery and a sweet fruity. Then very good grassy hoppy flavor, which even multiplies in the aftertaste.

[Cask at GBBF 2005] An unclear orange beer with an orange head. The aroma is slightly fruity, while the flavor is fruity combined with notes of ginger on a slightly malty background, and with a dry hoppy end.

Cask at GBBF 2005 Surprise of the festival for me. Cloudy amber/orange coloure, lasting off white head, spicey nsoe some bubblegum. Smooth in mouth with nice cinnamon spicey/hoppy finish. Really nice and could easily of had a couple of these 4.1/5. Re-rate bottle from Sainsburys Ashford. Clear orange gold with thin lasting white head. Some soap some whit beer style aroma. Soft in mouth. Yes a touch of soap some biscuit. Yes it’s fine. Nice mouthfeel. Some decent hop and bitterness on finish. Some cheese on aroma. 3.0/5

Cask conditioned at the 32nd Cambridge Beer Festival, gravity dispense. Golden colour, moderate natural carbonation. Lovely INTENSE hoppy aroma - fruits (citrus), honey, flowers. Flavour is extremely pleasant and well balanced with a citrussy hoppiness throughout. One of the best session beers I’ve had.

Cask conditioned at NERAX 4/28/2005
Light yellow, butter colored beer, with a bit of white head, quickly dissipating to bubbles. Aroma of soft vanilla and lavender. Flavor is "really good and malty for how light it is" or so say my notes. Not much wheat apparency, surprisingly light bodied but not sourish at all. Hints of cream and sugar, soft, tingly carbonation. Great aroma that shows you can have a light, floral aroma without a hugely hoppy flavor. A bit watery, but to be expected I suppose. 7/3/7/3/14

As others say, I dont pick up on the elderflower, but this is a lovely beer with a wonderful nose full of mandarin oranges (though not that sweet). Just wonderfully unique and how they get that much juicy, but not aggressive hop character in to the nose is beyond me. Clean, as well, but the wheat struggles to keep up the bright, perky nose...
The flavor suffers a bit (I think) from the wheat/corn, and seems a little bit chewy/thick. While it’s still fairly well attenuated and has a good sense of hoppiness, I think this would better work on just a regular blonde ale or bitter malt bill. Good carbonation somewhat ameliorates the problem however. A touch of diacetyl on the finish, perhaps? Still great stuff. 8/3/7/3/14

Bottled. Mahogany colour. Roasty, buttery malt aroma. Dry with some harsh metal but also plenty of roasty malt. Inky, bitter finish.

A hazy amber beer with a small collapsing beige head. The aroma is sour and fruity. The flavor is malty with notes of roasted bread and overripe fruit, leading to a dry end. But the body is thin.

White rim only, heavy pearling notwithstanding; clear amber beer. Nose with caramel and toffee. Faint aroma hops in the taste, and, again, caramel and roasted sugars. Very light bodied, watery ànd sticky finish. Aftertaste gives a bit of oxidation, which is strange for a BBD 4/04. Light and sweet. Another example of the weak British yeasts, IMO.
