Description
Tampa Bay Brewing Company is one of Florida’s first & premier Craft Breweries. TBBC opened at the tail end of the last "Micro-Brew" Boom. Our philosophy then and now is simple: Brew beer we love to drink! Thank goodness there were plenty of like-minded people around to support our endeavor. Today, TBBC thrives within the incredible brewing community of Tampa, Florida which was once just a two brewery town...we were lonely back then! We currently operate an Ybor Brewpub and a Production Brewery in the northern part of Tampa. We are organically growing distribution with the end goal of being a Florida only brand with a driving vision of Beer Crafted for the Florida Lifestyle. Cheers!

Cask @ TBBC. Pours deep amber, with thick beige head. Aroma is hoppy and grainy. Taste is grainy with some spices and malts, light hoppy aftertaste with some sweet honey? Some nice toffee/coffee roastiness. The cask gives the beer some extra resinous and light fruity (apple) note.

On tap @ the brewpub. Pours deep gold with thin off white head. The aroma is nice and smoky with notes of sweet malts and faint apricot in the background. The taste is smoke up front but not near the Schlenkerla pummeling the senses level. The smokiness is met by mild malts and then later a growing yet overall mild hop bitterness that carries into the finish. The smoke is fairly bold and takes steps toward being bacon like but never really gets there.

On tap @ the brewpub. 5% ABV stated elixir pours up in a mug with clear gold body and bright white head. The light aroma carries sweet Pilsner like malts, grain malts and mild levels of tart citrus hops. The taste has an initial crisp fresh quality bringing up solid notes of citrus lemon and grapefruit mixing with a pleasing grainy malt quality. Most likely Munic type grains. I get a near sweet tangelo note as a trickle of malt sweetness intercedes. The grain and tart citrus flavors carry into the finish polarizing the experience. In the after taste I get a persistent mild lingering hop bitterness.

Tap at TBBC. Pours dark brown with beige head. Aroma, floral hops, caramel malts, some chocolate. Taste is hoppy, floral notes, lightly bitter chocolate finish with a nice caramel / malty notes on the palate. Little coffee in teh afetrtaste. For some reasons this one was a freshly new batch, and the beer seemed to be much lighter than other versions. It remains an outstanding porter, highly drinkable.

Mug at TBBC on tap. Pours golden with good size white head. Taste and aroma are both sweet for a pislner. Good balance of malt and hops, leaving a mouthfeel that does not have any metallic aftertaste that seems to plague so many pilsners. Highly drinkable, very refreshing beer.

Had this back in mid June and it seems very much like an alias for Two Red Eyes.

Poured up in a goblet glass with deep amber body and thin dark tan head. The aroma is caramel mixing with malt along with mild pine hops and faint floral and spice hoppiness. The taste is full and rich malts to start creating a lip smackin’ chewy maltiness couple with cherry, apricot and plum fruity esters. I also get a note of caramel that shows up about midway and joined by a growing level of pine hop bitterness. As the finish approaches most of the caramel and maltiness drops off leaving a pine hop and floral to spice hop bitterness behind. There is a roasty component that hangs on into the after taste. A hint of oxidation also showed up from time to time too. Tasty chewy brew.

Served up in a goblet at the brewery. Pours a crystal clear amber with lasting quarter inch tan head. Nice lacing too. The aroma is sweet like hard sugary caramel candy and also creamy soft velvety caramel candy. Overall the aroma is on the light side. Big caramel candy taste that jumps out first. Then can sugar seems to build some distracting from the experience. There’s also a pine hop bitterness that cuts through the sweet caramelly malts creating a nice balance. If they had this as a standard tap offering I’d drink some at every visit.

Pours hazy gold with a hue of straw and bright white head. The aroma has notes of grains and wheat to start as well as a bit of apple tartness, interesting, and malty and grainy sweetness in the background. The aroma really seems to have a lot going on in there along with notes of citrus too. The taste begins moderately sweet and fruity with notes of apple, cantaloupe and turning very lemon like by midway. As the finish approaches the last bit of sweet maltiness, grainy malts and wheat fades away leaving tartness from apples, lemons and grapefruit juice. Ends dry.
