Description
Shock Top is a traditional Belgian-Style wheat ale. It was originally created in 2006 as a seasonal brew under the name Spring Heat Spiced Wheat. After collecting gold in ’06 and bronze in ’07 in the Belgian White category at the North American Beer Awards, we decided to brew year-round and switch the name to Shock Top. We couldn’t be happier with our decision. And the best decision you can make is to try some Shock Top for yourself.

Pours a hazy orange/yellow, with no proper head action to speak of. Aroma is just a bunch of citrus and a modicum of wheat. Taste is pretty much the same... along with a crappy macro undertone (you guys know what I mean). Basically, the only reason I got this was because there was a deal at some Williamsburg bar for this beer... 3 bucks a pint. But I would prefer to never have it again.

Refrigerated bottle poured into a glass. Pours a hazy light orange with some head. Taste is mostly orange with some wet wheat. Not a good example of a Belgian White.

Would someone please tell the Macro companies not to try and be "hip" or "try and be Micro"!!!! this is a shining example of why the macros have absolutely no idea what good beer should be. No flavor besides the actual orange in my glass, way too acidic and no aftertaste, would rather lick wallpaper glue.

On draught at National Airport in DC. Cloudy orange with a solid white head that doesn’t budge and inch over 10 minutes. Aroma of citrus and skunks. Very sour, unpleasantly so, with an extreme acidic finish. Light bodied for the style. Best skipped. Nothing remarkable about this one.

12 oz bottle. Another Blue Moon rip-off. Strong orange flavor. Not a bad beer, but it’s a pale imitation of an imitation.

Bottled. An unclear dark golden beer with a thin beige head. The aroma is hoppy, lending it citrus notes on a lightly malty and caramel finish. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, citrus, and some spices, leading to a dry wheaty finish.
