Description
Brixton Brewery is one of London’s established craft breweries, making beer in the heart of one of London’s most colourful and famous neighbourhoods. We were founded in 2013 by two local couples, Jez and Libby and Mike and Xochitl, but our shared passion for beer started years before that, when we met in the old Hive Bar (now Craft Beer Co. Brixton), and bonded over newborn babies, and a dream of opening a brewery. We reckoned that every great neighbourhood deserves a great brewery, and we wanted to bring one to Brixton.
In 2017 Brixton Brewery announced the biggest news in its short history. That it had partnered with Heineken UK in a deal that would enable the business to open a second site in Brixton, boost capacity nearly tenfold from its 3,000hl site to up to 30,000hl, and significantly grow its team as a result.
As per 2021, Brixton is 100% owned by Heineken.
Brixton now only carry out small-scale brewing. Production brewing moved to Beavertown in September 2024.

Can from M&S. Golden in colour, with a white head and moderate carbonation. Mango and pineapple fruits, floral hops, ripe yet light malts and a dryish finish. Enjoyable.

Clear pale golden colour, fair fizzy white head, mostly diminishing. Aroma lemon, tangerine, pale malt, grass. Flavour light sweet and bitter, malty, citrus, light spicy notes in the finish, light body. Pleasant, easy to drink, not that special though, okay. --- Beer merged from original tick of Atlantic APA on 09 Oct 2019 at 11:32 - Score: Appearance - 7 | Aroma - 7 | Flavor - 6.5 | Texture - 7 | Overall - 6. Keg at the Thirsty Bear, Reading. Rich gold with a white head. Fresh, sweet apricot, papaya and satsuma. Yum, really very tasty and more-ish.

This does what it says on the tin without really exceeding its remit. It's fine. Clear, crisp pale with a decent zesty hoppiness to it and dry enough so there's no sickly aftertaste giving it a clean finish. Nowt special but you could session on it happily enough.
