Bright brick red, great loose head. Rich nose of caramel, toast and a complex dusty, fruity yeast note. Crisp and clean on the palate with earth, toast, caramel...the complex simplicity of the finest East Van pho’. This lager’s brilliance really creeps up as I work through the glass.

Dark gold colour. Aroma of Lublin or Saaz, alcohol, big bready malt, hints of caramel. Nice thick head. Firm character balanced very evenly between bread, caramel, toasty, hop, wood and alcohol with a hint of chocolate chip for good measure. Nicely done!

Bottle, at RBESG 2007 in Glasgow, Grand Tasting. Amber coloured beer, large head. Aroma of malts and toffee. The flavour has loads of toffee and caramel, fairly sweet. Minimal hops.

Bottle at RBESG 2007. Oh man I got a run of bad beers here. Odd lagery aroma. Some stale malts. Some toffee. Terrible.

Bottled at RBESG ’07. Amber colour, brief head. Aroma of hay and vegetables. Medium bodied and caramelly with hard, yet mushy mouthfeel. Notes of eggs and butyric acid. Not good.

bottle, bought in Klatovy. Pale yellow, cloudy, beautiful white and creamy head. Aroma of bananas. Well-balanced beer, flavours of banana, malt, slightly grainy and well rounded with a pleasant hoppy bitterness from Saaz hops.

Canette 500ml, courtoisie de Jean-Marc G. De couleur dorée orangé et transparente. Nez de houblon herbeux (foin), de grains de malt pâle avec des notes métalliques et de pain ainsi que des traces de maïs sucré. Mince-moyenne en bouche avec un pétillement moyen-fort et croustillant ainsi qu’une texture légèrement crémeuse et aux petites notes huileuses. Goût de grains de malt pâles croustillants avec de faibles notes fruitées (agrumes) lors de l’entrée en bouche auquel se rajoute un goût malté légèrement sucré et herbeux (notes de gazon mouillé) ainsi qu’un goût moyen-léger amer de houblon herbeux légèrement asséchant (foin et herbes fraîches, présent par la suite jusqu’en fin de gorgée) et un léger goût de pain puis en finale l’on retrouve de petites notes métalliques. Post-goût moyen et un peu sec, moyen-léger amer de houblon herbeux avec de faibles traces métalliques.
