Bottled. Clear mahogany colour. Aroma of molasses. Medium sweet. Grassy hops mixes with syrup. Light-medium body. Caramel is evident, but so is metal. Short, sharp bitterish finish. Only half-way there.

Draught at Soldaten Svejk, Stockholm. Clear amber, very rich creamy head. Aroma of caramel with a light touch of hay-like saaz hops. Medium bodied, lightly fruity, clean rounded mouthfeel. The body is very solid for a Czech beer, but then 13° beers are not that common. Also a bit low on personality, but I guess Pivovar Náchod has grown considerably lately. Finishes with medium bitterness. A more than decent effort that I am very willing to come back to.

Bottle: Very dark amber coloured, mid-sized fluffy tanned head, slowly diminishing; aromas of sweet dark malt and roasted malt with a tinge of molasses; first comes a moderate sweetish flavour, that quickly switches over to a more drier and bitter flavour, light to medium bodied; the roastmalty or chocolatey bitterness is still present in the sweetbitter finish and in the slightly lingering bitter aftertaste. A pleasant and fairly well balanced Dunkel.............

Bottled. Dark, reddish brown with a tan head. Malt, pear and sweet malt in the aroma. The flavor is sweet and malty, with bread and fruit. Thin and watery body, with apples, malt and some hops in the finish. Too thin and boring, yet pleasant. (061013)

500 ml bottle, my wife bought this one for me in Prague. Typical hefeweizen appearance, hazy golden colour, large white head. Aroma is also typical h.w.: strong notes of cloves, banana and citrus - nice. Flavour is more citrussy than some German h.w.s, cloves too, fairly light bodied, could have been more complex. Not bad though.

Bottle: Cloudy, golden coloured, mid-sized white head; moderate fruity nose (oranges, orange peel, bananas) and a very faint illusion of hops; light bodied, delicate sweet flavour; slightly tart and clovey finish. A decent Weizen from Bohemia, but who needs it in the paradise of hops......
