(Bottle 50 cl) Very dark with a reddish hue, rather limited hread. More dry and bitter than the typical dark, Czech lager - no freakin’ saccharin in this. Lovely. 100704

(Bottle 50 cl) Fully golden with a creamy head. The usul full, malty body with the resulting sweetness well-balanced with solid hops. Another classically neat Czech lager. 220404

Bottle: Dark golden colour, thin white head, quickly diminishing; sweetish nose: honey, cookies, caramel with a tinge of hops; sweetish flavour, full bodied, slightly bitter aftertaste with distinctive alcoholic notes. Quite well quaffable, but not impressive, too much on the sweet side........Re-rate 11/18: All in all drier and much more bitter: Quality is higher, obviously...

(bottle) Dark brown colour with medium frothy beige head. Sugary malty aroma. Initially very sweet malts, taste of roasted malts and dried fruits and a syrupy finish.

(bottle) Amber colour with a diminishing white foamy head. Sweet malt aroma with a hint of fruitiness. Sweet flavour, medium body, sweet malty taste with a sweet alcoholic finish. Nothing for me.

(bottle) Clear and pale amber body with a medium sized white foam. Slight sweetmalty nose with fruity elements of oranges, but also the alcohol comes through. Sweetbitter flavour, medium body, lively carbonated, slightly alcoholic hopbitter finish. All in all a decent Bock-like brew.

(can) Pale amber colour with a small white head. Herbal hoppy nose with a sweetmalty note. Light sweet flavour, sharp carbonation. Starts malty with a well balanced bitter hoppy finish.

Bottle: very dark, reddish brown, thin, lasting reddish brown head, big nose (caramel, liquorice), quite alcoholic with a tinge of port-wine, also hints of roasted malts and coffeee; quite sweet start, a bit sticky, fruity(plums)-malty taste and also a short fruity aftertaste, nearly no bitterness; lacks the hoppiness in the short finish, unharmonic, not well balanced, boring !

Bottled. Yellowish golden with huge bubbly head. Aroma is sweet, fruity and malty. The aroma was very promising but the taste was a disappointment, hoppy and bitter with sweetish finish. Weird bittersweet combination in aftertaste. Overcarbonated in my opinion.

(500 ml bottle - thanks to JensenTaster). Black (= very dark brown) colour, moderate tan head. Aroma of lightly roasted malts, tar and dark chocolate. Notes of smoke and woodwork. Flavour is rich, malty and full of molasses. Very sweet, too sweet in my book - nearly sticky. The 10% ABV is extremely well hidden behind the overwhelming sweetness, could (nearly) pass for a 1.7% ABV Danish "hvidtøl"! The Danes might use it to put hyper-active children to sleep on Christmas eve! Despite the sweetness, I kind of like it, due to its very full mouthfeel. A love-hate relationship, you might say.
