The tripel in the Montaigu-series, named after the town of Scherpenheuvel (which translates to Montaigu in French). Yellowish white, mousse-like head on a brownish peach blonde beer, cloudy. Fruity and yeasty aroma with impressions of orange, peach, lemon peel, sour cream, coriander, honey, potato and rhubarb; taste fruity with light citrus touch, otherwise rather neutral, softly malty, bit honeyish, finishing mildly florally hoppy but otherwise a bit watery.

Sampled in 2011 as "400 Quadringenti". Pale off-white, sticky head on top of a cloudy, yellow-blonde beer; aroma strongly reminiscent of banana, notes of green apples, sour cream, straw, white bread; taste soft and creamy, dryishly fruity, sweetish pils malt, aftertaste aromatically hoppy but not quite bitter enough to balance the sweetishness and therefore on the thin side.

Thanks. Sampled @ ZBF 2014. Dark brown mocha with little head. Nose is very sweet, ripe with rotting fruits, thick malts, sugar and fermenting strawberries. Taste is rotting, alcoholic fruits, strawberries, cranberries and other berries, boozy thick malts, candy sugar, yeast, old dark bread. Thick and malty body. I understand where they were going with this but no thanks.

26/IV/14 - on tap as "beercheiro" @ ZBF 2014 (Leuven) - BB: n/a (2014-418) Thanks to the Belgian Ratebeer crew for sharing today's beers!
Note: at the brewery stand the beer was mentioned as "beercheiro", they told me "cheiro" was the name of the port that was blended into the beer. So this is actually a beer and port blend.
Clear red brown beer, aery irregular beige head, little stable, adhesive. Aroma: earthy, bit sourish, roasted, sweet, dried fruits, some chocolate. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: very sweet, metallic, dried fruits, chocolate, port notes, sweet touch. Aftertaste: dried fruits, overripe banana, some mocha, sugary.
