Description
The Lumberbeard Brewing story isn’t a complicated one. It is much like the way we like our beers: simple, straightforward, yet full of creative adventure.
Bret, our president and head brewer, fell in love with beer and the craft of brewing at the appropriate age of 21. After graduating from the University of Colorado with a degree in economics, he pursued a sensible job in the finance world. It didn’t take long for him to realize that being at a desk was not for him and he wanted to become a professional brewer. That passion led him and his family to California where he went back to school to earn a Professional Brewing Certificate at University of San Diego. He swore he would never go back to school, but beer will make you do some crazy things. From there, Bret worked as a professional brewer for several years before taking the leap to open his own brewery in Spokane.
Lumberbeard Brewing was founded in 2018 and we are so excited to have you along for this crazy journey. We are committed to making excellent beers and desire to create a community where everyone feels welcome, cared for, and can find a beer they love!

Pint can. Orange pour with a pinkish hue, large head. Smells sweet and inviting, fruity and tart. Drinks like raspberry lemonade.. for what it is this is extremely delicious. Would be a great summer beer.

Draft @ Wisconsinburger in Spokane. Very dark brown pour topped with a thick creamy brown head. Smells roasty and sweet lots of chocolate and malt. Flavor profile is traditional American stout without adjuncts. Lightly sweet, a creamy feel, and big roasted malt finish. Faint bitterness. Very enjoyable, paired perfectly with a Gorgonzaga burger.

16 oz can poured, picked up at Hop and Hound. Dark and cloudy golden orange pour. Thin foam ring head. Expected this to be more sweet than sour. It is sweet, but balanced. Tropical juicy nose. Pineapple and mango juice on the flavor, light and refreshing, with a mild tart finish. Sourness 4/10. Tasty brew overall.

Draft pour pint enjoyed at Hop and Hound. Light appearance, pale goldennpour, soft head and lacing. Crisp front, grassy hop nose. Sharp, moderate bitter flavor, earthy grains, and a cool, grassy hop finish. Not your typical IPA, at least as far as recent trends indicate. Lighter feel without sacrificing the bitter portion. Good brew.

Can shared with others. Pours a clear light straw yellow with a white head that dissipates quickly to the edges. Aroma has dank citrus with a bit of grass and a touch of pine bitterness supporting. Flavor has dank citrus and earthy mango with grass and light grain backing.

Pint can. Flat yellow pour full of haze. Has a herbal, grassy aroma with dirty floral hops. More earthy hops up front before a light sweetness and moderately bitter end. Different from the other IPA's I've had lately, but not unlike a fresh hop pale from this season.

Pint can. Yellow pour with a light haze, thick layer of white head and sticky lacing. Juicy, fruity aroma with tropicals and light citrus. Hop flavor profile is a little dirty, floral, and earthy. Tropical fruit and faint citrus. Finishes with a mild bitterness. Love mosaic and this is a nice fresh hop, mosaic forward IPA.

Fizzy canned peach and some pineapple. Hazy orange pour with ok head. Cloying tartness on the finish. Ingredients don't mesh. Tap at Purgatory.
