April 2007: Brown 660ml bottle. Poured into a Veltins tulip glass, this is the third beer of my very own ’Night of the Lagers’. Very pale golden colour, good white head, sadly melted away very swiftly. No aroma to talk of. Fairly good, firm lager taste, the best lager I’ve had so far tonight, as I review while drinking. New Bit: Had this on-tap at a local Indian Curry House (2011) and really thought it worked with the hot spicey food.

Bottle @ home. Pours light golden with a white head. Aroma of light bready malt, light fruit, straw. Taste is malt, ripe apples, some sugar sweetness, straw, cardboard. Thin to medium body, lively carbonation. 300412

In July 2010, I wrote this: Sold in the UK as ’King Cobra’, it costs £6.75 for the regular 0.75 Litre bottle at one of my local Indian restuarants (about $10.00). The two 0.75L Cork and Caged bottles from last night were poured into four champagne flutes and topped up fairly often as we drank our way down the bottles. Light, lemony yellow with a slight haze, especially at the lower end of the bottle (no bits, but obviously some light sediment is in the base of the bottles. Lively head in the pour, but no staying power. The smell is of Belgian yeasts, interesting but not strong. The beer is really a strong lager in taste and feel, I like it and for the price is good value. Not sure it is in the correct style cat, but it isn’t a bad beer at all.

33cl bottle. Golden colour with minimal white head. Aroma has cardboard notes..., the same for the flavour. Carbonation is medium. Body is light.

Clear golden beer, big white head, unstable, pretty adhesive. Aroma: very sweet, apples, bit metallic. MF: low carbon, light body. Taste: sweet start, apples, sugar, little bitter. Aftertaste: somewhat bitter, sweet, metallic. Not very good.

Murky stuff with disappearing head. Aroma feels a lot like basic lager with grainy malt and some fruity notes. Flavour has grainy malt, some fruits and hints of alcohol. A bit more smooth with the yeast. Better than I expected.

0,33 l. bottle from Netto-supermarket. Brewed in the UK. Clear, pale yellow colour with a short lived white cap. The aroma in this one here is corn with wet paper, some grains, a bit of hay. Taste of sweet grains, corn, some pale malts. Quite watery and thin. However, worked okay with my curry soup.

0.33l bottle from Systembolaget Passagen, Stockholm. "The world's most celebrated lager", "Premium Beer - Extra smooth", "... The perfect beer" This has to be one of the best beers I ever get to taste - unless the label is lying? But of course it's not. Is it? A clear pale yellow beer with a thin fading and sidesticking head, a aroma that reminds me of a muddy puddle and tasting pretty much nothing else than water and dusty hops? Hmm.. The label was lying. Where do I get my money back? Bah, It's not even from India.
