Can delivered from ASDA, drunk at home. Ruddy brown, clear with a thin floating film of off-white head. Some amber malts, forest fruit, a bit of resin in the aroma. Taste is harsh, bitter and medicinal. Stone fruit and malt notes in the aftertaste. It's a mixed bag, not terrible but I could take or leave it.

Cask @ The Fox, Newport, Shropshire. Pours clear gold, white frothy head. Expected more tropical notes given the name, not much here at all, gentle distant hop fruit, breezy pale malt.. fine for a leisurely Sunday evening pint.

330ml can from Co-op Derby. Misty Amber appearance, good frothy white head. Robust hop bitterness, fruity marmalade notes... Old school done well.

330ml can bought from Co-op Derby. Misted orange, frothy white head. Marmalade nose. Taste presents a good hoppy bite, marmalade and grapefruit bitterness coming to the fore.. Drying close. Decent pale.

Cask at Tap, Derby Pours a golden yellow with a small white head and good lacing. Has an aroma of vanilla – which is certainly not what I expected. In the mouth it is more traditional, with oranges and general citrus plus just a touch of pine needles. Finish is more citrus, but gradually fades to hoppiness/ It’s OK.

Handpull cask at the Kings Head, Leicester. Dark brown and slightly translucent with an off-white head. Sweet spice in the aroma, along with plum and some liquorice. Sweet taste with a bitter medicinal kickback. Lots of liquorice in the finish and aftertaste. Not bad.

Hand-pulled half-pint at The Crown Inn, Oakengates, Shropshire on 5th Oct 2019. Light golden body, white top. Citrus leanings in the nose and flavours, subtle rather than full on. Nice and refreshing session ale.

Cask at Greyhound, Derby Pours a dark ruby red with absolutely no head at all. Nose is like boozy rotten fermenting apples. In the mouth is a contrasting mishmash of fruits, plums, apples, grapes, all overlain with a general musty sweetness. Roast malts underlie it as well. Finish is again very sweet but at last some hops start to show through – but by now it is too late ! Weird, sickly, not for me

Cask at Pothole, Allestree Pours a very dark brown with a small beige head. Nose is a mix of chocolate and brazil nuts. In the mouth there is sweetness of milk chocolate plus the tang of dark fruits. Starts of as watery but by the end there is a rich malty body. Finish is milky and malty. Easy drinking and likeable.
