Keg at the brewery taproom. Pours lightly hazy gold with a lastig, tight creamy head. The nose has dry citrus, pale malt, orange rind and pine needles. Light sweet flavor with dried out pale malts, some minerals, orange rind, sand, more pine needles, straw. Light bodied with average, massaging carbonation. Nicely bitter on the finish with just enough balancing pale malt sweetness, more edgy minerals, rindy bitterness, mellow grass. Very good overall.

Draft at the brewery. Pours clear, rich gold with a creamy white head. Lovely aroma with fresh, doughy malts, hints of cereal, ight hay. Light to medium sweet flavor with rich, nicely rounded bready malts, sourdough bread, some crispy cereal, light bitter straw, faint grass. Light bodied with average, massaging carbonation. Sweet, lightly sugary finish with further rich, balanced bready malts, some dough, light offsetting bitterness, cereal, straw. Hints of spongecake and orange meringue. Outstanding. One of the best UK lagers I’ve had.

Keg at the Three Johns - London . Pours black-brown with a soft, creamy beige head. Served obnoxiously cold. Good aroma, some nice charred malts, dark chocolate, ash. Light sweet flavor with burnt earth bitterness, edgy hard water, charcoal, bittersweet cocoa, hints of dried cherries. Light to medium bodied with fine, massaging carbonation. Moderately dry on the finish with lingering roasted malt character, some chalky cocoa, ash, baking cocoa. Pretty well balanced overall. Good beer.
