Description
Hammerton Brewery is a microbrewery based in Islington brewing small batch beers with the aim to bring great tasting beer back to the borough and also re-establish the Hammerton Brewery name in London.

Hammerton Brewery originally began brewing in London in 1868. Sadly it ceased to brew in the late 1950s and was later demolished. In 2014, a member of the Hammerton family decided to resurrect the family name in brewing. It also brings brewing back to Islington, a London borough with a great beer making heritage.

Shared 330 ml bottle at local tasting. Dark brown colour, nearly black. Low beige head. "Salty" and roasty dryish aroma, notes of sea water and coffee. Low carbonation. Dry roasty flavour, distinct notes of coffee and bittering hops. Salty hints. A bit one-dimensional but okay.

Tap(@Brewery Tap):Golden, a bit unclear, firm and lacy white head; mild herbal-hoppy nose with a certain fruitiness and a bready touvh; moderate bitter-sweet flavour, relatively light bodied; lingering sweet-bitter - and a bit worty - finish, followed by hoppy traces in the very end. Well crafted, but not too exciting…
