Description
Hammerton Brewery is a microbrewery based in Islington brewing small batch beers with the aim to bring great tasting beer back to the borough and also re-establish the Hammerton Brewery name in London.
Hammerton Brewery originally began brewing in London in 1868. Sadly it ceased to brew in the late 1950s and was later demolished. In 2014, a member of the Hammerton family decided to resurrect the family name in brewing. It also brings brewing back to Islington, a London borough with a great beer making heritage.

Keg at Hammerton brewery, RBESG ’14 day 3, 09/08/14. Black with a decent sized tan head that retains well. Nose is roast malt in abundance, earthy cocoa, treacle toffee, light sea salt licks. Taste comprises earthy roast, dark malt, light soy sauce, cocoa rub, dark toffee, mineral notes. Medium bodied, spritzy carbs - a little overcooked, semi drying close. Ok stout.

On tap at the brewery RBESG14. Black beer lasting tan head. Some roast flavours some chocolate some coffee. Pretty smooth. Ok. Fine. 3.2 re rate its a rich oyster stout which I rather like this style of stout. Love the thick juicy nature of it and the richness of the flavour. Good. Some spicy dryness on the palate
