17.08.2013, cask @ Angleterre:
Nice creamy longlasting head. Aroma is slightly neutral, winegum, cardboard, hay, grass, dried fruits. Taste is kind of harsh boozy even though it’s only 5,5%, grass, cardboard, winegum, hay, alcohol, bark, dried fruits. Longlasting harsh bitterness, slightly dry mouthfeel. Awfull!!

(Cask at Kitty’s, 20130625) The beer poured golden and clear. Its head was small, long lasting and white. Aroma had fruitiness, sweetness and malts. Palate was medium bodied with low carbonation. Flavours were fruitiness, sweetness, malts, grass and bitterness. Aftertaste was hoppy and bitter. A good clean beer showing the English hop characteristics.

Cask at the Bell, Waltham St Lawrence, 05/05/13. Clear pale golden with a thin white head. Nose carries pale malts, summer fruit, touch of wheat, citrus. Taste comprises pale malt, wheat, light sugar, citrus notes, summer fruit - pretty much marries the aroma. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, dryish finish. Ok - drinkable but on the bland side.

Bottle from Stirchley Wines, Birmingham. Poured a clear chestnut brown with a thin broken off white head. The aroma is fresh, big fruit and malt. It’s one of the nicest English ales I’ve ever smelled. The flavour is slightly weak medium bitter, with lots of malt on the palate. A very tasty beer. A super English ale.

Bottle from Stirchley Wines, Birmingham. Poured a clear dark amber with a thin white bubbly head. The aroma is big and malty. The flavour is medium bitter, malty and rather hoppy on the palate. It’s a typical English bitter with a hoppy, slightly spicy bitter edge. Very drinkable.
