8.5/10
Aroma is super fresh slice of citrus fruit: peaches and pineapple. Very plush fruit flavor, spices on the fringes and sweet throughout

Re-rate: Poured from the tap at Driftwood. Clear gold with small white head. Tropical citrus hops, sweet malt backing, slight booze. May 13, 2014 (8/4/7/3/15=3.7): Poured from 650mL bottle. Clear, orangey yellow with off-white head. Aroma of caramel malt and tropical citrus hops. Taste same, but balance didn’t quite hit home for me. Bit of an alcohol kick, medium body.

Deep purple colour with a light purple head. Woody, fruity, curranty, lots of sugars, too. Balanced, there’s a vinegary element, but the black currant fruitiness is pretty strong. There is a lot of alcohol in the finish, but it has a lot of character.

Dark brown, with a bubbly head. The aroma has a thin brown malt character...more Hoyne than Driftwood...and there’s a bit of toast. The taste is sweet, little bit oily, creosote, touch of marmite, but then it gets thin...kind of weird, it doesn’t really come together, definitely nothing Baltic, that’s for sure.

Bottle - Dark chocolate and roast malts. Jet black with a nice brown head. Tastes just as it smells. Super solid porter.

Hazy light tan, the aroma has a bit of footy yeast, otherwise maybe a hint of tartness. Tart, with a bit of wheatiness, fresh, and a hint of saltiness. This is a decent wheat ale...doesn’t really scream gose...not great.

Bottle thanks to Matt! Pours a near clear deep orangish amber with a brown hue and a tan head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a good amount of vanilla and bourbon with a backing earthiness and sweet grains. Flavor is full of caramel with some toffee that kind of over power the bourbon at first but it does come through in the finish.

2014-09-09, bottle at the Hog Shack, Steveston, Richmond, BC, 8-5-7-4-16=40
Dark blood color. In few words, this is a berry rich and vinous wonderful beer, with depth and balance, moderate acidity, very well brewed. Lightly astringent in the end.

Dark color, impenetrable, with generous strawberry-ice-cream head. Strong aroma of elderberry wine, some sourness, light ammonia. Good body strength; strong carbonation with smooth mouthfeel; berry flavor, sour without excess, but a bit too astringent, and quite bitter. Blueberry jam in the end.
Clumsy, but it’s really a new thing in this part of the world.

Bottle from Legacy Liquor, Vancouver
Hoyne label
Dark brown color, almost black; medium sized head. Dark malts aroma, cereals, light coffee, earth, some stale bread. Good body, but lean; the malt flavor is semi-sweet and a bit bready, caramel; earthy, dusty touch, and low bitterness; low level of bitterness.
A bit confused.

2018-10-11, bottle at Brian's, almost 5 years old, tagged 01.28.2014, 7-4-7-2-15=35
Moderate sourness, mild sweetness, mild fruits (stone fruits and cherries), quite balanced, clean, with short final, and not really old.
2017-10-12, bottle from Great Bear, Vancouver, almost 4 years old, tagged 01.28.2014, 7-4-7-2-14=34
Fruity and a bit vinegary, less sweet notes than previously found, hence slowly declining, but still a serious Sour.
2016-08-29, bottle from Great Bear, Vancouver, 2 years old, 7-4-8-4-16=39
Cloudy red-amber color, not much head. The aroma has a trace of vinegar, but it's a very fruity example, with pleasant residual sweetness.
Very good.
2014-03-10, draught at Alibi Room, Vancouver, 7-4-8-4-15=38
Cloudy red-amber color with small head. Sour and fruity aroma, fermenting berries, some strawberry. Dry mouthfeel in the front although it has almost some sugars later; not too aggressive, but with very strong astringency, medium sourness, fruity, berries, some cherries; the final has some yeast/dough/bread that would better be avoided.
Very good.
