Aroma - light fruity pale malts, soft spicy hops, soft yeast
Taste - fruity pale malts, quite spicy hops, pale caramel malts, touch peppery, hint of background honey, touch herbal, slightly aromatic, bit unusual, quite nice
Palate - soft carb, thinnish body, bit oily, spicy bitter. Finish - dry as main flavour with more cereal malts, very lingering bit peppery aromatic dryness
Overall - Quite a spicy beer, more flavour than usual for 3.9%

Cask at the Merchants Inn, Rugby - 19/09/12. Dark chestnut brown with a good mocha head and decent lacing. Nose comprises dark fruits, nuts and toffee. Taste follows on but more caramel than toffee, slightly sweeter tones. Medium bodied with minimal carbonation. Decent mild.

Bottle 500ml.Clear dark brown colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white to beige head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, caramel, chocolate. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration, roasted, dark malt, licorice and smoke notes. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat. [20120808]

Bottle from Salling. Nice creamy head with excellent duration. Color is amber. Aroma and taste are fruits, caramel, xmas spices, malt and hops.

(Cask at Black Door, 20120817) The beer poured deep golden and clear. Its head was small, white and dense. Aroma had sweetness, green apples and malts. Palate was medium bodied with low carbonation. Flavours were malts, sweetness, green apples, tartness and low bitterness. Aftertaste was raw and bitter. Either the cask had gone off or the beer is just bed.

Bottled@chriso. Ruby red colour, small off-white head. Aroma is ashes, fruity, floral and some caramelly notes. Flavour is liquorice, quite medicine like with some mild ashes and mild smoked notes.

Bottle. A clear, golden beer with a huge, dense, white head. Citrusy nose with some maltyness underneath. Lightly brettish too, some barnyard hints. Pleasant on the palate, although a bit heavy on the carbonation. Medium body. Pleasant citrusy flavor with some hints of brett. A nice bitterness chimes in towards the end. A pleasant one indeed, tasteful, easy drinkable and quenching. A bit uncertain if the brett hints is inteded, or if it really is brett, but it was certainly nice. 120804

500ml bottle conditioned: best before Oct 2012, poured into a UK pint sleeve on 1st Aug 2012. Really dark body: deep brown with a tan coloured foaming head that was huge and lasting. Intense aromas of burnt/roasted/toasted malts: these turn into coffee and chocolate flavours in the taste. A hop bitterness is never far away and I found this a complex and interesting Porter.
