Description
Burton Bridge Brewery is a traditional style brewery that produces a wide range of beers.

We have stillaging and cooling equipment, will organise a selection of beers for you to approve and set it all up

For something a little different ask if we have our vintage Morris dray available. It has been on display at festivals and was used as a hearse for a funeral.

Mid-2024 the ownership of the Burton Bridge brewery has changed hands in a merger which also ensures the future of the town’s Heritage brewery.

The deal sees Burton Bridge come under the umbrella of leisure company Planning Solutions, which previously ran the National Brewery Centre in Burton, prior to Molson Coors’ decision to close it.

Cask at Shrewsbury Arms, Stafford Pours a very dark reddish-brown with a tight cream head and good lacing. Nose has hints of dark fruits and chocolate. In the mouth the taste is mainly milky coffee and dark fruits, but the fruits take over as the beer warms up (it was served too cold). Finish is mainly fruity but with some traces of liquorice. A good solid stout – brambles not overdone.

Bottle delivered from the Offie, Leicester. Orange/brown, hazy and almost completely flat. Aroma of TCP, golden syrup, notes of papaya and tamarind. Perfect taste, simultaneously syrupy sweet and intensely astringent. The astringency increases to the finish with notes of fruited caramel and more TCP in the aftertaste. Low but not completely absent carbonation. A revelation.

Bottle from Beers of Europe - looks like I had this before with friends at my house, as their ratings are there, but must've been too pissed to rate it. Anyway.... Appearance - dark honey to brown colour. Very slightly off white head. Nose - sultanas, honey and syrup. Taste - more honey, sultanas, orange peel. Palate - rich bodied, tangy sour texture. Bittersweet, tangy finish. Overall - very interesting beer, though not really a Dubbel. A bit challenging but interesting all the same.

Large foamy white head stayed on an unclear light amber coloured still body. Bubble gum aroma. Medium bodied, sharp & gassy in the mouth with dry clean back. Confectionery, stone fruit, hoppy, bitter under ripe fruit & melon tastes with big tangy fruity finish. This is good!

In the mouth the main taste iscitrus (lemon and orange) but also some rich tea biscuits and malts. The finish is lemony, but this fades into simple bitterness. A nice beer but not outstanding.

RERATE Cask at Lod Burton, Burton on Trent. Pours a bright golden amber with a small off-white head and good lacing. Malts are to the fore in the aroma along with some hints of spices. Malts again in the mouth, along with grains and oranges. Some traditional hops come through after a while along wth spices and some ginger. The Burton snatch makers itself evident in the finish. This is pretty good. ORIGINAL REVIEW Cask at Standing Order, Derby. Unfortunately beer was served too cold, so may need a rerate later, but here goes. Pours a golden orange with a small white head and good lacing. A pleasant aroma featuring malted milk biscuits and the usual Burton sulphurous undertones. In the mouth there is a strong taste of oranges, with just a hint of ginger underneath. The finish starts off as bitter but then fades to malty. 7:4:8:4:13 = 3.6
