Description
It was 1857 when Hugo Bayerlein founded the Bayreuther Bierbrauerei. In 1872 Hugo Bayerlein sold the brewery to a group of investors. These changed the brewery's name to a public limited company and sold the shares to Bayreuth families. In 1965, the Maisel brewery, with its Gebr. Maisel brewery, acquired a large package of shares and thus provided a positive impetus for the further development of our Bayreuth brewery. In this way, the Bayreuth brewery was able to maintain its independence, develop positively and enter into a well-functioning cooperation with the neighboring family brewery. With a large portion of foresight, the managers of our Bayreuth beer brewery and the Gebr. Maisel brewery decided in the 1960s to use our capacities together. So the new location was selected jointly and the joint production facility was founded.

Bottle picked up from Hier Gibts Bier, Webshop, Eckersdorf, Franconia, Bayern consumed at home Tuesday 15th March 2022, listening to Steve Lamaq on 6Music and had Italian Meatballs with Pasta. Pours amber with an off white head, pretty much clear. Malty, a little honey and a touch of garden herbs on the nose. Taste is following a similar trajectory but with a little more emphasis on the maltiness, pleasant bittersweet interplay a little dried fruit. Good, but sad that I think that this was the last of my latest Hier Gibt's Bier order.

Brown with a thin, frothy head. The caramel and cereal aroma fails to offer much in the way of depth and plays out monotone in the end. Taste is mildly sweet, slightly buttery, with a faint grainy bitterness at the finish. Medium-bodied, moderate to mild carbonation. Inoffensive. Drinkable.
