Bottle enjoyed whilst in Devon, rating from historic notes. Poured a slightly cloudy amber colour with an off-white head. Aroma is malty and hoppy, some caramel and a very light spice. Medium sweetness, moderate bitterness. Medium body, slight oily texture. Finish is a little dry with lasting bitterness.

Cask at The Rake. Sweet port and stewed fruits aroma. Dark Amber. The off-white head is pretty much just a memory. Sweet but surprisingly restrained for the ABV. Stewed fruit (again), raisins, a hint of spice. Thick bodied. Vaguely chalky, especially in the finish. Enjoyable. A sipping beer.
