Cask @ Richard John Blackler, Liverpool during the Wetherspoon Spring Beer Festival 2015. Darker amber in colour with a creamy head. Crisp tasting despite being very dry tasting in the palate.

Bottle (2010) shared with Niller, sourced from Toft Vin, Copenhagen - dark brown pour with off white head. Sweet malty aroma and taste, caramel, treacle, some burnt brown sugar, dark dried fruit, carbonation is virtually flat which is strange, very warming boozy, interesting brew, nice but thinking would of been better a little younger.

On cask at the Stockbridge Tap. Appearance - amber with a nice head. Nose - light strawberry and biscuit. Taste - jammy dodgers again. Palate - light to medium bodied with a creamy texture and a fairly good finish. Overall - solid but unexciting.

Cask at the crosse keys, city. Dark black / brown coloured pour with a lasting dirty greyish tam head. Aroma is dark choc, mineral flint, dry powdered choc and dirt. Flavour is composed of semi sweet chocolate malts, medium bitter roast and mineral, burnt toast. Palate is semi sweet, rounded, slightly thin, lowish cask condition. Harsh bitter roast lingering with some dark fruits.

Cask @ Manchester & County, Manchester. This might be the same ale as Goodwill Bitter. Very dark red with a creamy off-white head. Has some coffee both its aroma and taste, and slightly roasted in the later, although smooth tasting in its texture. It’s strength is not too evident.

Bouteille 2004. Nez fruité (prunes, raisins, figues, cerises noires), de malt boisé du genre caramel toffee et sucré, de sucre bonbon, de mélasse et d’alcool vineux et liquoreux avec des notes de noix. Ronde en bouche et pétillement moyen avec une texture bien huileuse. Goût très fruité sucré sirupeux (prunes, raisins, figues, cerises noire, notes d’agrumes et de pêche) avec un goût de mélasse sucrée lors de l’entrée en bouche suivi d’un goût malté boisé (fût de chêne) très sucré du genre caramel toffee, sucre brun, sucre bonbon et sucre brun et une finale plus amère dû au rôti de toffee et à l’alcool moyen-doux très liquoreux et légèrement vineux (raisins) qui donne une sensation de réchauffement très douce, avec des notes de noix. Arrière-goût long, légèrement amer d’alcool liquoreux doux, de rôti avec un goût légèrement sucré sirupeux de sucre brun et une moyenne aigreur fruitée (prunes, raisins) et des notes de noix. Cask-conditioned at the Gryphon, Bristol 4/3/2016. Near black in colour with a slight, beige, head. Roasted malts, with a touch of coffee and some chocolate sweetness leading to a dryish finish. Good.

Black beer, brown head. A bit of coffee in the smell, which is pretty dry. Flavour’s dry too... a splash of coffee, earthy malt, bitter chocolate and a healthy hit of the port too. Very drinkable.
