Commenced Brewing as O’Hanlons Brewery in 1996 in Vauxhall, London.

In 2000 moved to Whimple in Devon.

In 2013 was bought out and name changed to Hanlons.

Hanlons are a family owned-and operated craft brewery based in the picture-perfect countryside of Mid-Devon. We are dedicated to the task of producing truly iconic ales and our fantastic brewing team craft authentic British-made beers for the curious and experienced consumer. Our focus is on using high quality ingredients alongside sustainable and innovative brewing processes in order to create a consistently exceptional product time after time.

Our highly motivated, friendly team are driven by a shared vision that the care, attention and expertise of each one of us can be tasted in every drop of our award-winning ales. All beers are lovingly brewed on site and we are super proud of our extensive range including Yellow Hammer, Firefly Bitter, Port Stout, Stormstay, Citra IPA and our new CBD IPA.

We are obsessively passionate about what we do, and it is safe to say that our team is made up of unashamed beer enthusiasts! We feel that this is the key ingredient to our success and that our communal desire to produce the ‘perfect pint’ constantly drives us forward as a company. Cask @ Moon Under Water, Manchester. Light golden with a frothy head and also has light malts in its aroma and taste.

Cask at the moon under water Watford. Aroma is earthy dirt and spicy hop, straw, slight oxidation. Golden colour with a loose sticky white head. Flavour is bready wheat grains, eartyjy hop and some orange. Lingering doughy grains. Flabby palate. Some lingering berries. Palatable enough but a bit dull.

Dark amber, absolutely no head. Vinous aroma of ripe plums, port and dried fruits. No carbonation.

Cask handpull at Metropolitan Spoons Baker Street. Clear pale gold lasting white head. It’s a golden ale. Some sherbert hop. Little bit of fruit salad on the aroma. A little underpowered in flavour and malt balance. Distinctly average.

Hamilton Hall Spoons. Cask. Light haze on this gold beer, small white head. Palate is light with fine carbonation. Clean pale malt, slightly sweet. Floral tone. Mild citric hop bitterness, mostly lemon and grapefruit. Crisp dry finish. Clean and nicely balanced.

Cask at the Victoria Station JDW - London. Pours clear gold with a creamy, white head. Lightly dried citrus in the nose, touches of leaves and hay. Light sweet flavor with plastic citrus, lemon, mild grassy bitterness, pale bread. Light bodied with fine carbonation; decent condition. Fairly well balanced to finish, some better rounded citrus character, tangerine, lemon rind. OK.

Bottle: (as Double Champion Wheat) Pours slightly hazy, dark gold with a tall, off-white head. Light pear, apple, wheat aroma. Taste is white fruit....pear, banana, apple.... Very light, fruity....a little bready. Very pleasant.
