Description
Rocky Head Brewery is a micro (5BBL) brewery set up by a group of friends inspired by the American Craft Brewing scene. The brewery is probably the most ramshackle in the UK, equipment sourced and modified from here, there and everywhere.. It seems to work though! We craft artisanal batches of intensely flavoured pale ale by hand, loaded with American and NZ hops.

50cl bottle from Westholme Stores, Goring. A slightly hazy golden amber with a billowing cream head; soft peachy fruit aroma; rich fruity body - with mandarins, peaches and mango; some resinous hops, and a lingering dry finish. Rather good.

Bottle at home in London. Pours mostly clear gold, lightly effervescent, with a moderate, creamy white head. Lightly tangy citrus in the nose, some minerals, tangerine, a bit of citrus rind. Light to medium sweet flavor, some smokey minerals, mild pale malt breadiness, stone fruits, peach, orange, tangerine. Light to medium bodied with fine carbonation. Dry and fairly pithy to finish, some lightly resinous orange rind and faint pine, hints of alcohol. It’s quite pithy and minerally. Some jammy citrus, light tang. Decent.

330ml bottle. Clear amber colour ith average, firm, frothy, half-way lasting, moderately lacing, off-white head. Nice fruity hoppy aroma has notes of tangerine, orange, peach, caramel malty basis. Taste is moderately sweet caramel malty, fruity and slightly bitter hoppy overtones. Sadly about a small scale trickle too sweet, minimally soapy hop finish. Nevertheless nice overall.
