Keg at the Renaissance Hotel, South Normanton. Almost black with a tan coloured creamy head - just as a stout should be; creamy and smooth; coffee flavours predominate over the chocolate ones; a sweet and very dry finish.

Black with tight, thick, creamy head. Full malty aroma but not as roasted as with other stouts. Milky and creamy taste. Smooth and easy to drink.

Mild roasted malt aroma. Mildly bitter taste with no dominating single flavour. Easy drinking, quite thin feel in the mouthbut still retains enough luxurious, creamy texture. Some dryness on the finish but not too much and it retains it’s sessionability.

(Draught at Man in the Moon, Stockholm) Dark amber, almost tawny, colour with brief off-white head. Malty, slightly roasted nose with notes of caramel, orange and some rubbery hop aromas. Malty taste with notes of roasted cereal, rubber and hints of hops in the rather short finish. Some sweetness lingering throughout. On the thin side and lacking some identity, but still a decent and enjoyable brew.

Draught. The aroma is smoky. Black colour, small, creamy light brown head. The flavour is also quite smoky with some malt bitterness. Changed recipe?

(50 cl can, purchased at one of the COOP supermarket stores) Dark red color, tan creamy head. Light roasted and some chocolate scent. A bit thin body. Roasted taste and aftertaste. Medium bitterness. Nice and drinkable. I find it to be one of the better 3.5% beers around, lacks some hops though. According to the can it seems to be brewed by Spendrups!?

This is a midly ok beer from Italy. As far as beers made in Italy go, this is defintately one of the better ones. I suppose it is not authentic, but at least it is not that bad.
